Figured out the problem with my cucs

I've been growing County Fair cucumbers for many years. Its the only cuc I can grow that doesn't secumb to the wilt that cucumber beetles cause.

This year I grew them up an old swing set. They were doing great, but they weren't acting like County Fair picklers. They were getting longer, while still having strong spines on them, and not wanting to come off the vine. Some were very bitter, in spite of adequate rainfall. They just looked different from County Fair.

I was starting to think that Parke Seed had sent me the wrong seed.

Tonight I went out to look at the garden, and my cucs leaves are wilting, and they have cuc beetles on them!

Mystery solved. They ARE the wrong seeds.

I'm going to give Parke Seed a call. It ticks me off, 'cause now I've attracted cuc beetles to the garden, and I haven't had them in many years. :(
