Best way to raise PH for fruit trees

I donÂt know how accurate the home soil test kits are that you get at Lowes, but I tried one because they are only ten bucks for 10 tests. I have varying soil so I thought I would try this and see. The area where my trees are planted is on a slight hill. Near the top of the hill the previous owner used to burn slabs from his saw mill, so there is about a foot or more of black soil from 30+ years of burning. This peters out to nothing towards the bottom.

Last night I checked the soil at the bottom and I got a PH of 5 and low Nitrogen. I have not tested and other parts to see if it is different (hopefully tonight)

What would be the best way to raise the PH and N. These are new trees planted in the spring. I know that I should have done something before planting the trees (apple and pear) but they are in the ground now.

Or should I just tear out the trees and plant blueberries (LOL).
