Finches! They're already eating my cherries!

They're not even the size of a pea yet and somethings eating my newly set cherries. They're not dropping off, I can see they've been bitten off, often a fragment of the fruit remains. I suspected finches and sure enough I caught one flying out of the sour cherry I have in the front yard. That one has been picked practically clean. The sweet cherries in the back haven't been hit that hard, but I'm guessing it's just a matter of time before they take every single one.

I knew birds would be a problem but I thought they would wait until the fruits approached ripening. And I never thought finches would be a problem. I'm starting to think that anyhting with feathers should be blasted.

Anyway... does anybody else face this scourge?

Anything I can do about it?

I guess I could do some netting but I sure didn't think I'd have to do it in April. How annoying!
