Superior Plum rootstock

I have (or more precisely had) a Superior plum which died back to the ground a few years ago. It sent up shoots from the roots (with thorns), and is finally at fruiting size. It bloomed last year but none of the flowers were fertilized and grew into fruit. I am assuming this was due to the lack of an appropriate pollinator.

So my questions are, does anyone know what rootstock a Superior plum would have been grafted onto? And would that plum produce any fruit worth collecting, and if so, what would be a suitable pollinator.
