fruit tree/shrub for moist clay soil?

Question:

There's an area of my yard that drains slowly -- the grass is usually still damp there the day after it rains, when the rest of the yard is already dry. Our soil is clay.

Is there a fruit tree or shrub I can plant in that area? Apple, plum ...? Something not too tall?

Or should I stick to planting in the well-drained spots of the yard?

Thanks!
