Another calcium thread

Ca-deficient soil can't be all that rare b/c I've got (literally) tons of the stuff LOL! It is also acidic, so we put down lime, but we have High Mg (go figure). I will have to put down a Ca source when I get my tomatoes planted this w/e (hail expected today so they're all moving into the garage). We don't eat many eggs, and since our soil is not deficient in P, I don't want to overdo it on the bonemeal. I do plan on mixing in coffee grounds for slow-release N and to attract worms, but since they're higher in Mg than Ca again don't want to overdo it. An extension agent recommended whey but it may be easier just to use antacids. I don't want to attract pests.

Anybody have any idea how many antacid tablets (crushed) per plant, and when/if to try to replenish during the season? If anyone knows of any other good inexpensive sources of Ca (and not much else, some readily available N might be good) I'd appreciate it. Milk is over $3/gallon so I don't want to water with that ;-)
