Tracy, I think you'll find plenty of information and opinions in the threads shown in the link below. It's the results from searching for 'dwarf spacing' in this forum (which should cover dwarf and semi-dwarf varieties). As you'll see, a big factor in spacing will be pruning. The cedars may present a problem from CAR (cedar apple rust). Since I'm not familiar with the prevalence of this disease in your area (and can't even tell where you live because you didn't include that info with your zone info or on your member page) , you might want to contact your local ag extension service for more locally-relevant information on that. If you want to supply your location, you might be able to get more information about CAR here, from someone close to your area. You may also want to do a search from pruning techniques. You'll find numerous threads on the topic (maybe to the point of overload). Once you've done a little studying on that, come back and ask questions to clear up any concerns you still have. I wish we had one single, really thorough thread about pruning, but unfortunately the information is pretty scattered. Finally, have you researched varieties that will do well in your area? That may be a "can of worms". If not, your local extension agent might be able to give you some initial ideas on that too, but you'll definitely want to supplement his/her recommendations with your own research. A picture would help. Without that I'd suggest a support under the tree. This could be something like a 2x4 or 4x4 depending on the size of the tree. I'd put a footing underneath so it doesn't sink into the ground. Also you might try to lift the tree some when the soil is wet and fit the brace under that. A smaller tree could be staked and pulled upright towards the stake. It takes a big deep stake to hold the tree. You could even do both, stake on one side and brace on the other.

Most of the citrus trees you will find in the local southern Nevada nurseries or home improvement stores are on semi-dwarf rootstock and will grow to 6 to 8 feet (or taller if not pruned.) . The only true dwarf I have seen is a Meyer lemon and it will stay under 4 foot in a container. It should be possible to find a dwarf lime as well. There are genetic dwarf fruit trees (peaches and nectarines) and they will also stay small and can be grown in a container or the ground. I think your trees should survive the summer heat and light intensity if you get them in the container or the ground soon. Remember that citrus do not like wet feet so a good draining potting mix is a must but will require watering almost daily during summer. The bigger challenge will be the cold temps in the winter. You will likely have to cover the plant (citrus, the fruit trees will be dormant) on nights below freezing or bring them in if you have them in containers. Also remember that container plants depend on you to give them fertilizer, they cannot pick up nutrients from the amended soil while growing in a pot. I hope this is helpful.

I believe the assumption was that the trees would be planted in the raised bed along the fenceline. And that is a very narrow width to accommodate fruits trees other than those trained as espaliers.........
