I think the answer will be "nothing", but you need to define "total shade" a little better. How high is your front porch? And what do you mean by "under"? If it gets absolutely no light, plants will not work unless you want to grow mushrooms...:~)). In very low light situations, you will struggle to get blooms of any sort, but you can compose a container that works with different leaf textures and plant shapes--these are probably most visually interesting from close up, rather than from a distance. If you are limited in height by the porch, than that makes the composition even more challenging, as one way to get visual interest is with varying height.

I'm not sure if the do well in containers, but here lily of the valley and ferns seem to do well in dense shade.

Not many flowering plants will do well in the full shade (like busy said). If you can move past the flowering and into leafy plants, you'll have more success. You can get color and texture from foliage with plants like: Hosta, Heuchera, Coleus, Ferns, Forest grass, Mondo Grass, Elephant Ears...

I am no expert, but I do have a few containers on my porch.

I have tried to grow houseplants in them, figuring that they get limited light inside, so they may do well on the porch.

I have spider plants and pothos in containers, and they seem to be doing fine.

I also have petunias in containers on the porch, and they are doing alright, though they do get some light.

Impatiens thrive in partial shade, and may be good for a shady spot.

I want to add that I also just put a container with caladiums on the porch, and Im hoping they do alright...

I have had excellent success with Boston Ferns, caladiums, coleus, dragon wing begonias, impatients, hostas, all the common houseplants. I have them on my front porch and also on my back screened in porch. None get direct sun but there is bright light....

You have received a long list of plants that do well in shade. I would only add heuchera and hakone. Both are doing well with me for about four years. Good luck.
