I think I'm at peak right now. I've never actually had so much overlap of bloom in my daylily field before. Seems like the earlies bloomed later and the lates are blooming earlier. Been kind of a weird year for my daylilies. They love all the rain we had and have grown like crazy but the bloom cycle is a little different and some of my taller ones are blooming on shorter scapes for some reason. You can take the Cedartown bypass to go around the town , after which you want to turn right onto GA 100 heading South toward Tallapoosa. When you get into Tallapoosa turn right onto U.S. 78 West. If you prefer interstates you can take I-75 to I-285 West to I-20 West. Our exit is the second exit across the Alabama state line (exit # 205) on I-20. First of all, cukes will not cross pollinate with squash of any kind. But if they did, Norm has the right idea. Crossing would affect the SEED genetics, not the veggie quality. Bitter cucumbers are actually a very common problem, darn it all. For the most part, the reasons are cultural....but climate can have something to do with it, too. A cool growing season is one of the things that can lead to bitter cukes. Your garden pH should be somewhere around 6.0 to 6.5 for cukes to be happiest. A well-drained soil with plenty of incorporated organic matter is important. Mulch can play a key role in maintaining a consistent soil moisture level, since this is an important factor, too. Proper fertilization at the right time helps your cukes develop all those sugars. Pick them when they're on the young side, as cukes often get bitter if allowed to remain on the vine for too long. The last factor is plain ol' genetics. Some varieties (including the hybrids) are simply predisposed to bitterness given any little opportunity! I don't know if the Burpee's Burpless is, but I'll look that up when I get a chance. To be on the safe side, select a hybrid that has the word 'sweet' in the name, and you will know that the bitter gene is either absent or recessive to a sweet gene.

anglo, I'm the family tech support department. My kids are grown and out of the house now, but over the years, I've "supported" Macs, iphones, ipods and the ipad. Supporting involves using them when necessary to resolve problems. I was the one who needed to set up network (not just wifi) connections to a Windows system when a kid wanted to transfer school files to the family backup system. It was nearly impossible and much too hard. I debugged update problems, user problems, other hardware and software issues. I'm also in Silicon Valley and have a closer exposure to Apple and things and people in the Apple world than people elsewhere might have. Apple makes excellent hardware and software but I would call it on a par with its competitors on other platforms, not superior to. What they do excel at is creating marketing excitement and buzz, and passing out Kool-Aid to users to make them think they are in a special place when they use Apple products and convince them their products are worth premium prices. I have nothing against Apple products and I admire the company for what it's done to get to where it is. Personally, I think their products are overrated. I really dislike the inflexibility of their stuff compared to what can be done in the PC and Android worlds and I'm happy to not have to use any of it on a regular basis. Apple customers are maybe the happiest customers I can think of (considering other consumer products) and for that, both they and the company get what they want. I'm completely understanding of that. But it's not for me. PS - I have two grand-kids under 5, both of whom use iPads from time to time. The units are in padded, bunker-like protective cases. Both were told - you have to be gentle with these. If you break it by dropping or throwing it, it will be gone and never fixed. There have been no problems.

I doubt most would wait long on purchasing something else strictly on a photo of a view, and no idea about the house. If they don't drive by to look, they are going to google whatever old street/aerial view is available. And how those images come across, is going to be their impression of your property when you do present it. Even if it has been fixed up to be fabulous, they may remember what it used to look like and wonder if the work was make-it-look-good flip, or quality. That isn't what you want them to be thinking about during a walk through. I like a good puzzle challenge. A photo sans listing address, I would try to figure out the property from the view photo features just for fun. Providing house size and details, sans address, just makes that all the easier. Not providing those details, and people will assume the odds are that the house wouldn't be the proper size, BR/BATH etc. to wait.
