I think tinypic.com is the simplest way to go. Hit the browse button, choose the picture, upload it there. After it is uploaded, copy the top line and paste it in your message here. It is not a storage place, but does only the picture that you choose, for that one time.

Trying to post a couple of pics.

The problem is---- I can't find the Browse button!

A tinyurl, if I have this straight, would only be useful if my pics were on a website. Which they aren't!

The directions I found said to hit Preview then the *Browse* button (on THIS site) to navigate to my computer and then insert a link.

Do I have it all wrong??

Ah, it's the old switcher-oo. The directions you are quoting are for posting picture in the "Gallery" section. When you do that then, yes, after you press preview you are able to browse through your files to post your picture.

HOWEVER, in attempting to post a picture on a non-Gallery forum, such as this discussion, then you must upload your photos to a website such as photobucket.

I use photobucket because it is free and easy. Once you create an account, which takes a very few moments, then you are taken to a page where you can then press a BROWSE button to browse through your files and choose a jpeg to upload to the site. Once you've uploaded it to Photobucket, then you will see your photo with three boxes under it labeled URL, TAG, and IMG. Highlight the TAG box and right click and press copy. Then write your post here and then right click and press paste within the body of your post. You do not see the photo until your press PREVIEW. Also, you could paste into the "Optional Link URL" box below instead. I find it easier just to put in with the text.

Did that make any sense?

It's easy, really. Just sounds confusing.

I just wanted to mention that TinyPic is the easiest way I have found to post pics. You don't have to have a photobucket site to use it. if you go to TinyPic.com you will see a browse button. If you hit the browse button it will show you the photos you have on your computer hard drive and you can choose the one you want. Then you hit a button that I think says 'upload image'. There are only two buttons on the whole page, so it is clear. It takes a minute and then you see your photo on the tinypic site, and you just copy paste the top line to the body of your GW post, hit Preview and you will see your photo in your post.

I thank you for all your suggestions. Just before I took sick I went to a catcus gardens and took a bunch of pics so I can practice with those.

what is the actual formatting for posting a picture in a thread. Most forums that I visit use an [img] tag so that the formatting is [img]URL of picture [/img] but that format didn't work here.

All my pictures are hosted on my own domain so I don't have a fancy button.

mr dove here is the format, however I must *spell* it out or the site thinks I'm trying to post a pic.

followed with (include quote marks) "pasteyourURLhere"

do not leave any spaces between words or symbols except as I placed between img and src.
