I'll be painting Friday & Saturday and possibly early next week, depending on the snowy/cold weather and how much I get done this weekend. Granite guy is in Phoenix until next week and the granite I choose will depend on availability. (He gets orphan slabs and sells at cost plus his install & fabrication cost. It's the only way we could afford natural stone) The above (Ubatuba & G.Veneziano) were his suggestions that go with most cabinet colors/stains in our area and are usually available at the discount he's offering. With that said, I really need to paint before having sufficient time to choose the granite so all paint can dry & humidity eliminated before beech hardwood floors are installed. Plenty of light comes though a 12' bay windowed dining area. Kitchen faces the West.

Thanks for the additional thoughts. First, an update. I did replace the washers, inspect the seats, and replace the gland/packing material. The good news is that the leak was fixed, but the bad news is that balance problem persists. The pipes are copper, all 1/2". The cold side looks original (heavily oxidized exterior), but the hot side looks like it may have been replaced at some point (less oxidized). (Or maybe that is just from greater condensation on the cold?) The water is not hard, and there are no buildup problems elsewhere. It is indeed a two-handle faucet that looks very similar to the diagram to which you linked. I removed the shower head, and get a very strong flow from both the hot and the cold supplies (Many many gallons/minute). However, even with no head, turning the cold on just a bit kills the water temperature. It seems to me to be a balance/pressure problem, right? That the cold side has a higher pressure that suppresses the flow from the hot side? I contemplated patching in a pressure reducer on the cold supply to that bathroom, but did not do it. Does that sound like it would be in order? THANKS!

LOL! Everyone. I hung it outside for a few hours. That really helped. I didn't want to wash the bedspread because I wanted it to stay looking brand new. I bought the bedspread for looks. My dh prefers a down comforter on the bed. Sleeps great, but isn't as pretty in pictures. I knew it was possibility we might be moving. I can never find what I want when I want it so I grabbed it when I saw it. We haven't moved yet. We were interviewing realtors. I didn't want to show them how we really live. I ordered the bedspread set online at Dillard's about a year ago. They tend to have end of season clearances for 60% plus $40 off at the very end of season. I think I paid almost $80 for the bedspread, four shams, two small pillows and dust ruffle. It's a really nice, luxurious looking set.

We had weathermaster SUNSPACE windows and doors installed last year in our cottage screen porch. They have been FABULOUS, allowing us to enjoy the screen porch bug free, and protecting us from the wind and rain we needed. They also kept the snow out in the winter. However… We have recently had some problems with both the doors (one not staying closed, one difficult to open) as well as some problems with one set of the windows (the four panels would spontaneously fall to bottom leaving the space exposed to the elements with just the screen in place). The sunspace people have been by to check and service them. Hopefully the problem has been properly fixed. I am concerned though, because even when it was a problem, it was intermittent, (maybe related to temperature?). So I am worried that even if it seems like they fixed it it might not stay fixed. I certainly hope the company will stand by their product if the problem recurs. Stay tuned. I will report back as needed!
