What was wrong with the other thread that made you change your name and repost? This generally annoys those that are trying to help you. Impatience when asking for advice is not usually a good thing. History on this forum would indicate that this was not a good idea. Good luck.

I have not changed my name...it's the post on "how to maximize curb appeal at my house". and it's not at all impatience, I've gotten some wonderful information there. I realized it wasn't "curb appeal" that I was after, hence the title wasn't a good one, and you can't edit them. I've been reading a lot in this forum, and unfortunately for me, read most AFTER I posted, not before, and truthfully, there are many here who's imput I'd like to get.

My original post is horrendously long, which I know is a huge turnoff in itself, as I can appreciate how busy everyone is. However, I am here looking for advice and have tried to give as much information as possible in order to get the advice I'm needing. Brent, amazon and nandina have been great, and I'm learning more with each post.

Its not wrong. It is just that you have an active thread which people are responding to. If the point was that you felt that people who could be helpful were avoiding your thread because of the title of it, the title of this one would do nothing to improve it.

I don't care that you reposted. But I think it is important for other people who might do the same to realize that it does not encourage more help.

Read your post. It basically is sounding like "please hurry to donate your time so I can dump my house for top dollar, ha, ha, ha,..., we don't care about it and will only keep it long enough until we can do enough to it to cash in".

So, yeah, its a turn off.

Laag - reread the OP. If I understand correctly, she has realized that the way she phrased her original post was a turn-off, just as you said. So, she is attempting to explain her original motives in another post, in the hopes that people who ignored her first post might give her another chance. Yes, she could have that explanation in the original thread - but people who are ignoring the thread would never see it. I don't know the regulars here well enough to know if this post is helping her or not, tbh, but it seems like she is willing to put in some work.

Thank you irene, you stated perfectly what I was trying to say. It does appear that I've totally messed up what I was trying to do, that was not my intention.

laag, in a lot of ways, I can see where it can come across like that. Money does play a part, yes, but if that was all it was, I'd toss some stuff in there, and call it good.

Have you ever had a home "talk" to you, but were unable to understand what it was asking for? This house talks to me, but I no longer hear it's message clearly. I used to be able to articulate my thoughts better, that took a hit when the MS affected my cognitive abilities last year. Nothing I can do about that, but try.

A little guidance and less critism to a relative newbie here would have been a much nicer way to use your time. Although in reading some of your previous responses it apprears critism is your specialty.

I think I'll just go back to my little dirt pile now, and put to use the things I learned from brent, amazon and nandina, who took the time to offer their help through their advice and time.

Oh hello, Hi, you don't know me but I have read some of your posts and I have seen your garden, I know your limited reading list, Gordon Hayward is it and I think you might want to apologise to Andrew. Unless it was a joke in which case you should apologise to amazon and nandina. If you want to take over this forum brent and are open to all comers in the way that laag is, watch out you don't have the balls. Of course I may have missed the humour but laag happens to be the MOST helpful member of this forum if realistic landscape design is the aim but then I may be wrong about that too. INK, I know for a fact, even though I haven't ever spoken to Brent, that Brent was just taking Sally's own words and making fun of them. Read sarcasm, directed at Sally.

That is okay...most people don't even get my sarcastic humor in person. Of course I meant no disrespect to Andrew. I will admit that it seems that Sally might have learned something from some of the words that I typed on the other post, which feel good.
