They are hybrids, the parents are fertile so each batch of seeds requires the parents. Actually there have been several tomato cultivars that have been at least partially parthenocarpic, notably those developed by Jim Baggett at Oregon State.( Legend, Siletz, and Oregon Spring) You can also have seedless tomatoes in cool weather by using a hormone like Blossom Set.

There are very few "seedless" varieties. And what few exist are relatively new hybrids and seldom grown as transplants for sale. Simply not enough demand for them and the seeds are often more expensive. So you would have to grow your own plants from seed. Oregon Spring is one that gets mentioned. Legend is another. It has some seeds but they are easily removed before eating. You best bet would be any of the so-called "few seeds" roma or paste varieties. Again not commonly sold as transplants at least around here, but some are available. In non-paste types look for Mortgage Lifter, Goliath, or any with "heart" in the name. Good luck. Dave
