You have been a busy girl. ;o) Possibilities: The bark dust and Turface fines are excellent additions to raised beds. You could also scatter the bark on the lawn or gardens, add it to the compost pile, or use it in the 5:1:1 mix in place of the peat fraction. If you're into hypertufa (with all that energy and enthusiasm, it seems like you SHOULD be! Lol), the bark fines can be substituted for peat and the Turface fines are a superb substitute for the sand in hypertufa. Al

They will stay tender enough to eat, as a rule, until the flower stalk grows to about double the height of the foliage and the blossom bud gets about the size of a large marble/ping pong ball. You can eat the "scape" -- the bud and stalk, if you wish, much in the way garlic scapes are eaten. After that, it will to too tough to really eat, although you could always throw it into soup, etc., and remove and discard after it releases its flavor into the broth much like one would with bay leaves. The flower is very attractive and ornamental. After flowering, it makes a large round green seed head which self-sows easily, and 2 to 4 baby leeks will emerge in the fall from the base of the old flower stalk to repeat the whole cycle.

I had to direct sow last year after my zinnia seedlings failed and the daffs flopped. So I never did get it too look like what I had in mind. But this year is different. Jean, I know zinnias need lots of sun and the get lots of sun there all afternoon from about noon on. Just shady earlier in the morning.

That's what I would do- melt them all down and start from scratch again. There are other, more creative things that could be done, like shaving the soaps and creating new bars with the shavings (poured over by clear soap with a new fragrance) but since you have a large box of leftovers, that would be a tedious task.
