Hi! your salvia's are great! did your other salvia's bloom the first year? I love brugmansias and daturas. i've got 3 brugs in the ground and about 50 in gallon pots. white, pink and yellow. just the standards. I was trying to sell them but got no response. i grew them from cuttings. my daturas are not growing. i have about 5 varieties and they all got 4-6 inches tall and stopped. I actually live in Creswell. i have family up in the Oregon City area. Oh, i found an "yvonne" that is about a foot tall under some pumpkin plants that self sowed themselves. so I moved her yesterday to a better spot. hopefully she'll take off. Tanya

Well, those daffs and tulips are new this fall but I always have plans. The by the trellis garden had daylilies last year which I moved out so I could do the spring bulbs. I plan to put zinnias up there for the summer. But I see I have the bulbs planted so thickly that I might have to wait for the folliage to start to die down. Not to worry, I will figgure it out. I Have to start the zinnia seeds myself anyway and since I have no greenhouse or growlights, I have to wait until its warm to start my seeds outside. Then the other side, I only had those belgium block terraces put in late last summer. Before that I did not have the daffs there. I had zinnias planted on what was a slope. I intend to plant zinnias in there were the daffs are after they fade. It would be about the same general area I had zinnias before and it should look smashing. The tulips between the daylilies are new too but the daylilies will take over later. Then the daffs by the walkway have roses behind them which take over for summer bloom.

Steve, I thought this would give you a better idea of how large Squash Casserole is (and did divide it last year). Here is a another hosta for camparison, this is Elegans which has been in this spot for 8 years. Karen I would say the average age of most of my hostas are anywhere from 4-8 years. I did have the advantage of having some great local growers, so I often bought mature hostas. TJ I did want to kick the hosta hater right down the street! LOL Jen

Thanks Keith! I'm glad my camellias encouraged you to get some of your own! I would plant it in the ground now only because Camellias can be finicky in pots because they can't dry out too much and they arent really crazy about being indoors. But if you give it really good soil and make sure to water it well then potting it up might be better. If you have an unheated garage that doesnt really get below freezing too much during the winter than you can put it in there. What kind of camellia is it? Once yours gets to be close to the height of the one in my pic (probably by next spring) you can plant it in the groun). Remember they really dont like sun! Thanks Mastiffhoo!
