Do Baby's breath have thorns?

I sowed some baby's breath seeds about 2 months ago and what I got was a really quick growing plants. No flowers as yet but it almost grew before my eyes. I was just wondering if baby's breath (gypsophila elegans) have thorns on the stems? Mine does and just wanted to make sure it was not a weed that I have been looking at all this time. There is one planted in full sun and one in shade. The one in shade has a purplish tinge around the centers, whereas the one in full sun does not. Also the gardener pulled it out by mistake thinking it was weed, but I noticed and put it right back in. If it is baby's breath, is it likely to survive? Thank you.
