Yes, closet doors. I grew up in a house built about 1900 to 1910 or so. Every bedroom closet door had a large, full length mirror inset in it, including the coat closet in the front hall vestibule. I loved them.

Thank you @elcieg and @sheilajoyce_gw! Closet doors make total sense. They are so beautiful and I can’t wait to get them stripped down and repainted!

I remember in my younger years needing to get fingerprinted for a new tweaching position. We had just moved into a new apartment, and i had spent the previous few days scrubbing everything. Lo and behold, the policeman trying to fingerprint me told me that I had no fingerprints. So I waited a few scrub free days and tried again with success.

"I don't NEED my fingerprints anymore, at my age and lifestyle" ...

If you do any travelling you may well need them. We get fingerprinted entering the US and now, thanks to the disaster that is Brexit, we can't even go to mainland Europe without it.

I never thought about it but looking at my old hands they do look faint.

I found this site about 1993. My eldest child went off to college in 1992, and before she left she helped set me up with an online email so we could stay connected. My husband had read about this site in about 1993, and I have been here ever since. I dont post often, but I do enjoy keeping up with everyone here.

No lemon, Chisue. You are a peach! You have a lot to deal with, and your attitude is admirable.

I'm late seeing this too. I've had shingles four times. I got the first Shingrix shot, but when it was time to get the second I had Lyme (again). The pharmacist told me the second shot is "very hard on the body," and I should wait until I was feeling completely well. It's been years since I felt completely well (I'm guessing you can relate), so I still haven't gotten the second shot.

I hope you're starting to feel better now.

Chisue, my BILs doctor suggested a treatment for crusty eye lash area. Maybe it will help you. Use No More Tears Baby Shampoo and hot water. Fill the shampoo bottle cap with hot tap water. Add one drop of the baby shampoo, stir with the qtip, and gently scrub the base of your eye lashes with the qtip. Use the other end of the qtip for the other eye. I like to follow that with a warm, wet washcloth to remove the shampoo.

I have come to prefer knitting in the round with either a circular needle for larger items or DPNs for smaller items. Then you don't have to do that tedious sewing up.

Currently I'm making socks for DGS's christening using hand spun alpaca wool from a flock his other grandparents had before they sold up and retired.

I am so sad to see this. I had lost contact with Glenda since leaving the KT, but thought of her often. I have several of her recipes and they have become treasured ones,

Rest In Peace sweet lady.

Look on the edge of the oven side or side of door for the model and serial number. It has always been on the left side of my GEs. Then search for your instruction book online. It does sound like it has gor reprogramed to broil only? Yes, a lot of the new GE have the bottom coil under the bottom of the oven.

I have GE double ovens and they do have heating elements on the bottom, but they may be newer than the OPs.

I agree with lowering the heat, I do that with some cakes so that I can avoid overbrowning, it took some adjustment to move from my gas oven to my electric ones.
