Comments (12)Nice for the cactus perhaps... Normally it flowers in one burst in August or thereabouts even though it has buds from when it comes out of dormancy, but this year I'll give it a couple of flowers for possible identification and perhaps cut and dust the rest -- I really want it building its strength for its first winter outside the (out)house. It's also been wrong-footed from the start of the year, since the cloudy cold snap quickly gave way to sunny early summer and sunburn has been a problem for the first time (you can probably see from the spines that it's used to a lot). It should fade, but I've read somewhere on the CactiGuide forums that it takes weeks for Echinopsis to recover. Haven't been able to find much other info on it, as usually by the time people take photos and put them online the damage is more severe. The supports were necessary mainly because the cactus goes down almost as much as it goes up, tapering to the point from which the roots originate. Quite fascinating, but there's no way it could have been set down while I filled the pot....See MoreWANTED: Wanted: 1 or 2 medium to large lavender plants
Comments (3)I have lavender plants in pots, these are 2 year old plants, they were started from seed. Also have 5 year old plants that I need to move, they became to crowded. I would not mine losing 2 or 3. I'm across the pond from west seattle, a ferry ride away. If you would like these and have time to dig this week or Saturdays, leave a post. Comments (17)hollysprings, we run the machine about 3 times each day, which is one medium to large, one medium and one medium to small. Those 3 loads are for about 6 bath towels, two of those thicker plus other assorted laundry, usually always 'warm' and 'Cottons' 'Medium'. This is the same way we always used these GE top-load washers. MRB, perhaps the machine is doing that again : On the first machine water came out I was told because a seal on the vertical shaft got worn out, or during failure the machine tried to spin when still in the agitation cycle, or vice versa. On the replacement machine water seems to come out when there is a little too much water above the clothing, usually when we selected large, as I mentioned there are also very large and super load levels which we never use. We are not perfect, and when we judge the clothing level to be higher than it actually is and select the load accordingly too high then it might splash. Again on past machines we never had to worry about that. See it this way, both of us are college educated, I am an engineer, We should be fully qualified to operate this machine. I should not be required to study rocket science for that. None of the concerns is mentioned in the user's manual. I should be able to throw the clothing and detergent in, select what is approximately correct per the users manual, push start, and that machine does its job for 6 years without a problem. In case I pay too little for the machine, it should perhaps do a poor job washing, aka clothes staying dirty, but should not break down every month! Comments (11)looks to me like an accent wall color is the way to go. though in my old house now that I think about it too, I had the kitchen and dining room 2 different colors with a line running down the middle. never even thought twice about it. I think I'm nervous now because this wall is my biggest focal point in the whole house cuz it holds the fireplace and drybar cabinets entering into the kitchen. I'm literally so confused on what to do it's not even funny. I really hope I figure this out soon. Seems like when I google inspirational photos that most people just do all one color. As I like that thought I always wanted that spa blue color to go behind all my white cabinets. Maybe I'm wrong in thinking that will look good. Maybe I should mix accent walls or something. Who ever thought paint could be SO CONFUSING. It's really not normal to be this stressed out over color is it?...See MoreNinja Betic
