I also feel certain this is Botrytis cinerea, aka "Botrytis blight", aka "gray mold". As you read, typically it requires both wet conditions and also cool temps. I suspect (but am not certain) that if you have rainy summers with night temps. down in the 60's (or maybe even mid-70's if it's wet enough, but that's only a hunch), that might be cool enough for it to take ahold on petals that were vulnerable to it. It doesn't usually infect leaves, although it can infect very tender, young ones. The spores are airborne, and they'll germinate anywhere there's plant tissue that's sufficiently tender for it, as long as there's enough water around (it really does like "wet"; in an outdoor garden night fog probably won't be enough if it burns off in the morning sun) and the temps. are cool enough for a long enough period of time. I suspect your summer nights are cool enough for the spores to get started.

I tried a tent....and had mixed results. First problem, is your bottom part of the tent? If so, that prevents escapees. If not, then your first problem is keeping cats confined to the tent. Second problem..is this going to be outdoors? If so, it's gonna get hot. If indoors, how will you stake it? Also, cleaning (sanitizing-which will eventually NEED to be done, look quite difficult) Now, the price IS nice. For camping it's a steal. I made my own with some 2*1 lumber, a roll of 48" vinyl screen mesh, and cut out a cheap screen tent zipper. Yes, it took me a day, but a good cat cage. Now, the smaller reptarium cages are probably a great start, fairly inexpensive, easy to clean (take apart and wash, You buy 2 and rotate them. Also, they are black mesh, which is good if outside, as they will filter the light enough not to cook your plants, but pass enough air through as well. Tight woven enough for your cats to pupate, and big enough to put potted plants in. IMHO

I sympathize with your dilemma. At least you know, however, where the noise or problem is coming from. My problem isn't so simple to define, since finding the source of the noise that I hear seems to be about as likely as proving the single shot theory of JFK's assasination. I've been renting at this apartment complex for a little over two years and have had to call the police three or four times now. Sometimes it's actually quiet, but it's been getting worse over the last couple of months. First, the two apartments across the hall from me are occupied by a woman and her son and daughter-in-law who like to conduct loud conversations up and down the stairs (we're on the third floor) with the door open. Oh, and this woman has a voice that sounds like she's speaking through an artifical voice box. It's horrible and gutteral and low pitched and screechy like a demon from a bad horror movie. Anyway, I've already complained to the landlord about them, which seemed to quiet them down for a little while, but how can you hold back the sea? But before I could relax and enjoy the respite, the neigbors directly below me decided to start playing their music loud from around 10:00 to 11:30 at night. I tried to ignore it at first, but when it continued the next night I did contact management. This time, they seemed more hesitant to do anything. In the midst of all this, there are a band of lowlifes that populate one or other of the buildings behind mine, who like to scream and talk loudly at all times of day and night outside my window, toot their horns, and bang on the door of their buildings while yelling to be let in. How their immediate neighbors can put up with this, I'll never know. Since I don't know who these people are or even their exact apartment numbers, I've been hesitant to call the landlord. I have gone outside late at night and crept around trying to identify the source of the noise, and jotted down the address of the specific building and the floor I thought it was coming from. When I called the landlord about them, the manager said he would try to get security to look into it. That doesn't seem to be working, though, since every week since then I've experienced numerous disturbances, usually two or three times a week. I've been lying in bed at midnight and had to listen to loud street talking among what sounds like a group of guys, using rough language and acting like they're in a bar. Just today, I was awakened at 4:11 a.m to the sound of music blasting from someone's apartment, followed by loud talking and cussing that went on until after 5:00 a.m. When I finally went back to sleep (I had to get up early to drive my sister to work so needed the sleep), I was awakened again at 6:40 to loud music. This is getting to be too much to handle. How am I supposed to police this whole complex when the management apparently is unwilling to do so? How, also, am I supposed to lodge a complaint when I don't know the source? And apparently, the people living near these scumbags are either too apathetic or scared to get involved (or perhaps they're friends or relatives). Does anyone out there have any suggestions? This is ruining my life! I feel totally harrassed and violated.

In addition to accessories, the first thing I would consider if you canâÂÂt/donâÂÂt want to paint the ceiling to bring in more teal, and you are going to hate me for this, is to change the banding on the drapes to teal, or at least add a couple inch band of teal between the red and the print. That will also help the teal pop out of the drapery fabric. I would NOT paint the panels above the fireplace in the teal. What I would do is get a thicker piece for the mantel shelf, and drop it down so that the bottom of it starts at the top line of the tile, and paint it the same color as the rest of the panels (white?) I would then look for three platters or six smaller plates to hang in the panels with teal as the primary color. Or, use two of these on each of the outside panels, hung one over the other, and then a teal vase in the center with some branches and greenery to give some height. teal seashell plates Maybe this vase from Pier1: Teal reactive vase Pier1 will have all the faux and dried grasses, twigs and small floral accents to pull in the colors you want into the vase. If you donâÂÂt like the plates, look at the seashell and starfish/coral wall art pieces on the Pier 1 site - they would work instead of the plates on the two side panels. Please also take a little time to paint all the vents teal to disappear on the wall. They are not decorative items. :-) A taller more vertical mirror over the sideboard, and either one bigger lamp on one side, or a pair of lamps on either side. Consider finding something if you do a single larger lamp, that has a ceramic base.
