Comments (4)I love the stone FP too. What direction does your window face? If it's sunny enough not to look cave-like, I suggest painting the walls a rich dark brown that complements the stone, and picking a sofa to match the tan color of the hearth. I dislike carpet, so I'm the wrong person to ask. I would paint the mantle white, beef it up with some corbels for architectural interest. I have a similar problem in my LR, but no $$ to fix it. Is this room open to the DR? One trick I used to tie both rooms together is to use the LR pillow color on the walls in the DR (red, but it would work with any color). Comments (44)Ok, Kippy, here's more a of styles/colors blend question. :-) Suede Old Hickory Tannery Sofa. Our green couches. Safavieh rug (if it's soggy, I'm sorry. I've been drooling on it for a while now...) Yellow chairs? I'm definitely willing to look for other chairs, but one of my dd's really likes these so, hey, who knows. I also kind of like the blue plaid chairs... And for those who are wondering how on earth we'd fit 3 couches plus 2 chairs, here's a thought: The pictures look dinky. Trying them separately: Close-up of rug: (I see this pic didn't show up when I was talking about yellow earlier. Oops!) Comments (8)Hi Geneviève, thanks for your response, we have TV in Family room, not planning to have it in Living Room. We have sectional sofa in Family room, so want to keep Living room little formal. "Formal Traditional", we spend most of time in Family room, so Living room will be rarely used (maybe twice a month). Yes we have children, though no pets. We are working on a budget, so looking for some thing around $1500 price point if possible (all pieces)....See MorePlease help me choose living room furniture, mantel & accents!!!
Comments (8)Your idea about the mantel is spot on ! I think your new rug is nice, but....(sorry), I feel like you dont need a rug in here or you need something lighter, smaller possibly even a free form like faux bear or even round. the space is so small the rug is closing you in. recliners will eat up a lot of space here........ you will have to forgo the coffee table I suspect. have you toyed with the idea of an ottoman instead, especially since if you are reclined you dont really face the tv so it might not be as awesome lol. You could do a reclining chair and sofa with an ottoman, might get more function out of that. Leather sofas really only have so many looks, so I would argee that gray is not really great I would lean toward beige if it was me. might I also toss out there the light bulb you have shining on the fireplace is a bit to daylight for my taste and also seems to be very bright! I think diming it down, narrowing the beam spread might high light the art better, its a bit washed out right now. https://www.costco.com/campania-leather-power-reclining-sofa-with-power-headrests.product.100390699.html https://www.macys.com/shop/product/kaleb-tufted-leather-sofa-collection-created-for-macys?ID=2672877...See MoreBarbara C
