more roses I can see from my kitchen window
Comments (9)What a wonderful view from your window Jean! Makes doing chores nicer:) Dolly Parton's rose is as flamboyant as she is:) How tall does Mr Lincoln get for you? Beautiful healthy roses all of them that you have. Glowing Peace is beautiful, it's nice to have roses that just happily keep on blooming:) You do have nice pics, thanks for sharing them. Comments (6)The dining room looks fine to me, the windows seem to be centered with the light fixture and the table. There is extra space on the one wall which will accomodate the server or hutch without taking away from the table room. That room works out fine. You will probably be very happy its that way when your furniture arrives! You can center the rug under the table and it wont interfere with your hutch, etc. I love the color, what is it? The family room is a tough one, I dont like when windows are crammed into the corner, it makes it difficult to hang window treatment hardware. What does the rest of that room look like? Is that the wall you will put an entertainment unit on? That might take your eye away from the window issue. I wouldnt worry about it now, it will probably look better with furniture and paintings in the room....See MoreWhat is this, and more importantly, how can I get rid of it?!
Comments (24)If you absolutely cannot stand the texture, sure go ahead and skim it smooth but I'm going to guess you'd be willing to live with it since you said smooth walls would be your preference. You do not need to skim the entire wall (and actually you'd have to do the entire room) for this one little rectangle. Even if you can't achieve a 100% perfect texture match, you will never notice it with this small of a repair as long as it's a close match. Just fill the void with drywall mud so it's smooth with the wall and feather it out onto the wall. After it's dry you can check it with a level or straight board to make sure it's level. Lightly sand if you need to, get some spray texture that matches what you have, spray it on and knock it down with a drywall knife. I would normally not recommend spray texture but this is a small area and the knock-down part of it is easier to match than if you weren't knocking it down. I wish my drywall repairs were this small! I've had to repair areas 10x this size and the drywall paper was torn to boot! I've never had a problem matching the texture and I'm a walking, breathing perfectionist. You can do it! It's very unlikely you'll even be able to find someone willing to do this small of a repair. Ps, be sure to remove the plastic screw anchors....See MoreHow can I get windows that I can keep open with screens that work?
Comments (3)If these are vinyl windows some of the cheaper brands dont fit tight against the sill and dont have good weatherstripping. If they are full screens you try putting a strip of pile weatherstripping there . If they are 1/2 screens you cut a piece of pvc to fit in the screen track to hold the screen down and tight. It should be cut so it fits snuggly into the track....See Moreplantkiller_il_5
