Here I am reading the post, not realizing it's old (only on my 2nd coffee) lol I was going to suggest painting it green, but a different shade, or darker grays / more of I guess an earthy neutral. I would take it one step farther and paint or change out the door, but the house looks great! The satellite dish was actually a plus, hope you kept it? I can't tell you how many my son installs especially with football season coming. If people have cable there, they may be looking to move away from it like we most likely will do. Glad you decided not to take the Rhodie out. Depending on where you live, it may not be as hardy in a new plant version if the owners want one or hacking it back very well could have killed it. FWIW, I liked the idea to add decorative lighting to the garage, and would have gone one step farther with a lighted walkway. I went to realtor.com, ask your agent to change out the main picture or if you like the one they have, ask her to retake the photo without the minivan if something happens with the offer. Good luck.

Lindy, on my computer, those colors all look very green. Can you pull up a pale grey-blue instead of grey-green? Also, tan colors would work. I would not go burgundy on an MCM house. Lovin what is happening with the thick posts. Adding a railing is also a very doable option. I particularly love how the posts thicken up at the bottom. Very grounding! And that's the thing with foundation planting - it really grounds the house. (I have to figure that out at my own house now that my house has new siding, doors, windows.) It's really fine that you don't know how to do that. GW has some great forums with folks who would be more than glad to help you figure out some low maintenance, substantial scrubs/plantings for around the foundation. You can also just look around your neighborhood/town at what people have done. Pay attention to their choice in shrubs and make sure you are seeing mature plants so you can figure out placement. It makes a TON of difference. And, for the second time in 5 minutes, I'm with pfmastin. I still really prefer the current paint color and brick. I like it light. It's really just such a good, fresh look! That being said, I know you were disappointed from the beginning with it and taste is taste. Would you consider just going with a creme with an undertone that takes you from the yellow if that is what is bothering you? Be careful with tans and beiges, or you can end up with a bandaid/pinky tone. IMHO, neutral and earthy, grayed out tones are good for the bones of a house. Punches of color can be added in porch furniture, front doors, plantings, pots, shutters, etc...

It's not likely a city would require no parkway strip in the entire city to be paved ... except yours. To keep the same theme as what you have now, but make nicer, would still require some concrete to be removed so as to enlarge the tree beds. They're too small. The trees do not look happy. Their yellowishness suggests they need some nitrogen. This could be photo, lighting or time of year, but check it out to make certain. They need a uniform, solid groundcover, not pieces of different things. Check more thoroughly with the city per what, if an, permit is needed. Don't rely on a contractor for that. I think it will look junky and be very impractical to rely on freestanding planters to solve this problem.
