I've had little success with happy child. It doesn't repeat flower as well as the other David austins and the blooms aren't what I expected. I was after the bright big blooms as in the product tag but the blooms are medium sized and more of a pale yellow and go an off White pale yellow as they age. It doesn't have a fragrance either.

I had more luck with souvenir de Marcel Proust which is a delbard. No fragrance either but their blooms are a beautiful bright yellow and very elegant.

Happy Child grows very well for me, still flowering now when it's already 2 weeks into winter. Lovely tea and citrus fragrance, too.

Give this rose a light trim now, and thin the center out a little, cut back harder in winter it look By reducing the flowers heads you will larger flowers try to keep the bush more open
