I just sold something on Ebay and don't know where this zip code is...I did a zip code search and this came up.

FPO AP 96351

Anyone know what this is?

I think it is a military address.

It's a military address in the Pacific area. Bet the shipping would be $$.

Hey guys, :-) The shipping costs are no mystery or secret. go to "calulate domestic postage" and punch in the zip code and weight of the package to see what it'll cost to send it. http://www.usps.com/tools/calculatepostage/welcome.htm?from=home&page=0061calculatepostage Anything under one pound can be send anywhere in the smaller priority box for $4.95. Over 1 lb but under 2 it starts going up according to zip code. Over two pounds it's easier for me and safer for the bulbs to be nestled softly into a medium flat rate box for $10.35 If you know the zip code of where the package is coming from and you know yours then you can find out exactly what it should cost for shipping. The regular priority box weights about 4.5 ounces, add crumpled news paper for padding you might be up to 6 ounces. so you see how when somebody wants 1 pound of garlic and they live in Maine zip code 04280 I put 1 lb into the box it weighs 1 lb 6 ounces...that comes to $8.70 That's how all that stuff works. -bloo

Gary, IMO you answered your own question. Given the fact that a BW WH provided you 15 years of service, there should be no question as to what brand you purchase. As far as efficiencies are concerned, yes, there are units (BW included) that offer high efficiencies; however the more technical they are, the more to go wrong with them. The $10 / month that you are spending on keeping a pilot lit, may very well pale in comparison to what you would spend on repairs of a higher efficient unit. As my personal plumber stated - they all do ONE thing - heat water, so why get technical about it. I just replaced my WH 3 months ago - BW 50 gallon Defender System - direct vent. Why did I choose a BW? I believe in keeping the money that I make here in the US, stays in the US, as Bradford White is based here in the US only - Michigan. :) Good luck with whatever you choose!

My take: Why no closet doors? That's an expense I'd have to make right after buying the house. Why traditional stained wood trim in some rooms, and a modern look in others? Why are they hiding the sink? Is there something wrong with it? They've removed the upper cabinets. Now everything is on the counters or walls. Looks cluttered. Another expense for me--adding upper cabinets. Advertised as a 3-4 bedroom house, but only one tiny, awkward eating area crammed into the kitchen. Where will the family eat dinner? Where will I host the extended family on holidays? Bathroom is a very traditional style. Kitchen and living room are not. How will I make that work? Will I need to remodel shortly after buying? More expense! Shiny wall of cabinets in living room. Mostly, I'm in favor of the Big Wall 'O Storage, as built-in storage can be space-saving. But the shiny finish on these cabinets gives me pause. So totally not my style, yet a centerpiece in the living room. How expensive will it be to refinish the cabinets to something I can live with? A large part of this is that it is right in the middle of the living room. That same cabinetry in the basement family room wouldn't bother me so much. It would still not be to my taste, but I could deal with it better in a casual family room than in the main living space in the house, the space I invite family and friends into, if that makes any sense. No one of these things would prevent me from looking at the house. But put them all together, and I'm looking at a lot more money than just the price of the house to make that house *my* home. In order for me to look at the house, it would have to have some other massively redeeming feature--location, low price, fantastic school district--something that would outweigh the cost and time and energy needed to alter the house to make it work for me.

Funny, I think I've finally figured out why my kids want dinner at 3:45pm...I guess the food at least smells good!! So, I'm not going to cry over not having a proper vent, and needing to settle for an OTR microwave, as it's a step up from what I currently have! I'll watch out for the grime (I clean compulsively when I cook, and I only let the backsplash go when I'm 7-9 months pregnant and can't reach since I'm so short and too lazy to get on a step-stool). Davidro1 - funny you say that...the only thing I don't cook at home and usually try to get in a restaurant is something grilled, since food cooked on a true grill is so much better than food cooked in a grill pan, and I live in a rented apartment, so no BBQ yet....(looking forward to finally having one in the house!!). And yes, I did swoon over the 48" ranges that offer the grill option, but I simply can't afford the space, or the appliance for that matter! Thank you all for your input!

It is a military address. When my husband was in the Air Force and stationed in Germany his address was FPO New York, but.....I can't remember the rest of it. Or maybe it was APO. Well, it was 40 years ago give me a break. I'm a big help huh? Vique.

Thanks...I thought it was, it kind of looked familiar from when my brother was in the army many years ago. it hit me after I hit the submit button. I looked it up and saw that it was military. I stated in my auction that I ship to the US only...hope this address applies!

I don't think you'll have any problems, Vicki, but you may have to fill out one little form. Hey, for a serviceman or woman, it's worth any extra trouble!

My brother works and lives in the Bahamas for a government installation on Andros and he has an addy like that. I've never had a problem mailing to him. In fact, the PO has a flat rate box for APO/FPO addys that is actually CHEAPER than the regular one, by $2.

that was my son's ap when he was stationed in Japan (navy). and yes, you do need to fill out a form or he'll never get it. The PO has them, and if you are rural your mailman will bring you one. Be sure to check the 'gift' box or he will have to pay import duty on the item. I can't believe the seller didn't explain that to you...he'll never get the item without that form attached to the package.

It doesn't matter now anyway...Ebay pulled it because it was someone using someone else's Ebay account. So good thing it didn't sell....I always put that I ship within the US only. This has happened to me in the last week...it's scary because Ebay warns me to change my password when it happens and that'a all they say pretty much. I want to know if I'm at risk of someone getting my info. Anyone know???

If this happens again, I know you may want to be nice, but I wouldn't check it off as a gift like someone suggested. It's not, and I would think that may be illegal if it's not a gift. You don't want to mess with mail fraud and import laws. If you're selling something on e-bay, it's not a gift.

Well, everyone is at risk no matter how many precautions you take. Nothing is foolproof.

I think the person who bid on this item may want to obtain your personal information from the form you would have to fill out in order to send it to "FPO AP 96351". Then with that info they may be able to crack you accounts.

I googled it, and from what I can tell, it's Ikego Elementary School in Guam. Probably on the base there.

I know everyone is at risk all over the internet, or even shopping at the stores for that matter, but I think Ebay should give me more info, not just change my password. I have emailed them and I get the same form like email. It says nothing about MY account being stolen....just that someone was using someone else's to buy things.

I wouldn't have mailed it out of the states anyway...my auction states that I only ship within the USA. I don't want to get stuck paying more $$ for shipping.
