Has anyone used Eco by Cosentino (white diamond) counter tops?
Comments (3)I have Eco Riverbed for my peninsula. It's mostly used for dining and I have seating on both sides, but it is used several times a day. I've had it for over a year and the only problem was that one of the glass pieces chipped out. This happened soon after it was installed. It's very small - about a 1/8 inch circular shape. It's shallow, but I can feel it when I run my hard over it. I'm careful to never set anything hot directly on it because I've heard it can crack. I never set anything hot on my perimeter counters, either. They are Silestone, also made by Cosentino. I brought home the White Diamond sample, too. It's very pretty!...See Moreuse existing sink on new counter tops
Comments (4)I currently have top mount sink and it does not have to be replaced. I was just thinking that a particular faucet that I may like may not fit the current sink but would fit a new sink. You guys make an excellent point, however, because I would prefer an under mount sink w/ new countertops....See MoreWhat color silicone to use between the backsplash & counter top?
Comments (18)@Joseph - good news! I spoke to Dani about the Axiom translucent white. I have a question about filling in the joints. There are some minor ragged edges where the fabricator cut the quartz countertop. This is where it meets the wall. Will the translucent white silicone hide these? I know it's not clear colored, but wondering if it will fill in and mask some minor cracks?...See MoreEver used Polished Sandstone for a counter top?
Comments (15)live_wire_oak not true actually, there is one product that is permanent and made to migrate the entire surface of any stone. It will seal the entire thickness of the stone, also allows it to naturally transpire as stone should It is from Dry Treat, - Meta Creme and is mainly exported to the USA. It is much better than any stone film, or impregnating sealer as these at best protect about 1mm of the surface and need to be replaced or reapplied every 6 months in a high use area It would be the only thing we would recommend or use. It will stop delamination of sandstone around a salt water pool... Nothing else will do that. So its tough and the best on the market http://www.drytreat.com/sealers/residential/meta-creme.html Ps the only way to polish sandstone to a high gloss... you have to apply a resin to the surface otherwise the sandstone is too porous to hold a polish. You can get a semi-gloss but thats it Be aware that most highly figured sandstone products that are high gloss are not in fact sandstone but Quartzite which is sandstone a sedimentary rock been subjected to heat and pressure to form a metamorphic rock - Quartzite. Similarly limestone to marble. Hence Quartzite and Marble can be polished as the pressure an heat compacts the density of the grains in the stone and it is able to take a polish to the surface. Quartzites are still porous just like marble and granites are Meta creme is suitable for any stone to seal it....See MoreRobin Vilter Your Leelanau Realtor
