Brad: Thank you for the info. I got PlantStep back up and working last week. AdwCleaner moved it to the C drive and labeled all the files with a .vir extension. I had to use a program that will delete the .vir from the PlantStep files in bulk, reinstall PlantStep and then overlay the cleaned files back into PlantStep to get all my data and pictures back into the software. I would caution anyone on using AdwCleaner. I have a program within Windows that does a check of Services running on startup which will give me a list of programs that I might want to not have run on startup. I even disabled the AdBlockerPlus, cleared out the cache, temp files and still the issue with Houzz continues. The message is definitely being generated from Houzz. I upload photos to other sites without issue. Just Houzz has something that changed. I already got notification from Windows that my version of Windows and Apps will not be a problem with the new update. I'm still waiting for the message that I can install which probably won't happen for a few days as they roll it out.

I cleaned my cache etc this morning and now my pages are Houzz. I had the dickens of a time trying to find the categories. I wanted to see what Hot Topics was doing, and when I clicked on Gardening, it doesn't give all the categories, as we know HT is listed below Hot Peppers. It took me right into Gardening discussions which I don't want. So now I manually change the houzz url to Gardenweb discussions OR click on my personal topics on the left. They are still Gardenweb. And, when it's Houzz, all of my discussion categories (KT, Cooking, etc) are all shown. I don't like that. I like browsing around Cooking or KT, I don't want all the discussions showing on the same page.

@Lars Right, what you're experiencing is what I'm experiencing. Are you using an adblocker? If you are, which one? I've been using Ublock Origin for so long I don't remember how to add a filter to Adblock Plus but it should be just as easy. In Ublock Origin, to add a filter that I was given, I would click my Ublock Origin icon, open the dashboard, paste the filter at the bottom of "My Filters", and click "Apply Changes". For Adblock Plus, there should be a similar way to accomplish the same thing. (there is, I just don't have it right here in front of me :) )

jayapple21 9 hours ago I posted the following earlier today and several folks suggested that I post it here. ******** This Houzz/gardenweb thing has been so frustrating for me. I usually follow Houzz on a desktop computer (iMac) but sometimes I use my iPad. Over time I have bookmarked a number of Houzz 'dilemmas' to follow but the ones at the top of my daily list are lia's, rred's and zaz's. All three of these are pretty long-standing dilemmas with thousands of comments over the years. Recently there seems to be a correlation between the sites with 1000s of comments and the amount of time it takes for the site to open. Dilemmas that have perhaps 50-60 comments open immediately for me but with the three that I mentioned earlier it can take a long time and often I have to try and try again to get them to open. Sometimes there is a long pause before a site opens. This is on my desktop and it only began about 2-3 weeks ago when instead of 'houzz.com' showing up as the home site it began to read 'gardenweb.com'. I understand the two sites are linked, and apparently 'gardenweb' is much older and has been around for much longer, but my difficulty in getting dilemmas to open only began when the 'gardenweb' address began showing up. It is the most frustrating thing and I have a hunch the webmaster folks at Houzz.com are NOT aware of this change that has occurred. I know diddly-squat about computers but since 'gardenweb' is an old site, and the problem I have involves getting threads with huge amounts of comments to open, I wonder if the old 'gardenweb' site just can't handle the storage volume that's been generated over the years even though it's now linked with 'houzz.com'.
