Comments (13)The "other guy" when I was rear ended last September. I had over $10,000 in damage but thankfully the young man had good insurance and they paid without a quiblle. Luckily there were no injuries and although it took a month to repair, it came back in almost perfect condition. It does have a little rattle when backing up for the first time but it wasn't worth pursuing a correction. Annie, I'm sorry your car was damaged so badly. Lucky you were there when it happened. Comments (30)@chartreuse scorpion, when we went to Ocracoke in 2011, the Outer Banks highway to Hatteras was still washed out from damage by hurricane Irene. The only access was by a 2 1/2 hour ferry from the mainland, so that’s how we got on the island. Very few tourists. It was really nice....See More
3 months agoThe Veteran's Memorial in our city. It was very rainy today so I'm not sure the ceremony they usually have was held.

3 months agolast modified: 3 months agoThe Nat'l Veterans' Cemetery here - every year volunteers(mainly Boy Scout troops) plant flags on every grave. This is just a small section, and it's a photo from some years ago, so there are certainly even more now.
They hold a big ceremony on Memorial Day morning - my mom and dad are both there now, and we go later in the day to lay some flowers
