I camped on Catalina also, but I don't remember any wild boars - I was not aware that they lived there. I did see buffalo on a bus tour of the island, but our campsite was walking distance from Avalon, just down the hill from the botanical gardens, and so it might have been more civilized than where you camped. When we lived in Venice, we could ride our mountain bikes from our house on the bike routes to a ferry dock in Marina Del Rey to catch a seasonal ferry to Catalina and then have our bikes on the island while we were there, which we liked, but we never took a bike tour of the entire island, as the mountains were way too steep.

I had some pictures of our pigs but they all ended up being auctioned off for some good cause and have private owners now. Except the one at the main branch of the library downtown. It has a pig sitting on a pile of books. I have a picture somewhere but I'm sure it's not digital. Maybe others will talk about the statues they have/seen. That would be fun.
