Yes, mine. It was stinking hot for three days and then the rain came through and the tdmps dropped 30 degrees.

The power went out overnight for an hour or so. My neighbor has a huge generator that is loud enough to wake the dead.

Same here. However, it's raining today and I am so thankful! We've been in drought that was headed to a very severe conditions! The talking weather heads were saying that Western Oklahoma & East Texas are headed to extremes unseen since the Dust Bowl days!

Same story as Ded but thankfully I didn't lose power after the storms blew through. Temps were in the upper 30s last night and again tonite. This is why I don't plant warm-weather vegetables until Memorial weekend at the earliest, the cold night temps can really set them back (especially if it's cold and wet).

Yep! Original 7a, then 7b, now 8a. Except last winter was high of 80• and low of 9•, both in the same week! Maybenin the same 24 hours.

April is to be rainy. April showers= May flowers, except April was a drought and May will not quit raining!

We have had a warmer than normal spring. Fewer days of onshore fog to keep temperatures cooler. Warmer than normal ocean temperatures. If the condition continues, we may have a miserable summer.

I just went outside and noticed the potted vinca on the patio are wilted -- they likely got nipped by the cold and are probably goners (vinca hate cold temps). My eggplant transplants are wilting, too, even though they were under the patio table just in case it frosted -- hopefully they will be okay but we'll see. The tomatoes and peppers are fine (also tucked under the table). I might delay planting the vegetables until first weekend of June, just depends on those night temps. Definitely won't plant squash and melons until then, regardless.

This actually isn't that unusual for MI, Memorial weekend has often turned out to be quite chilly -- this has been the case for as long as I can remember going back to when I was a kid, it isn't a new development. I think people get fooled by the warm stretches into thinking it's safe to plant out when in reality it's a cr*pshoot some years. I learned this lesson the hard way when I planted a bunch of annuals in mid-May and a long, chilly wet stretch hit and they all rotted. It's usually relatively safe to plant in planters up by the house maybe third week or so, but in the ground or out on the property somewhere = no; really, it's best to wait.

ETA: Note I said relatively safe to pot up; here it is the third week of May and those poor vinca are done in. :0(

It already feels like summer here - not any wild swings, but highs have been in the 90s for weeks now.

I understand a significant portion of the country is under drought conditions. We've had watering restrictions for awhile.

If someone didn't believe in climate change, it is here, and this is life now. I grew up and have lived in South Central PA all my life. Last winter, we had three weeks where it didn't hit 32, but not much snow. In April, we had many days of 80 degrees ,and then a 24-degree night, which killed all the peach crops. Then it heated up again and then plummeted to 24 and destroyed most of the apple crop. This week we had our first heat wave of four days, hitting mid/ upper 90s, and this coming weekend Saturday, it will be in the upper 40s daytime breaking all records. We broke heat records two days this same week.

The drought, which is persistent in our part of the state, and trailing down through the Carolinas to Florida. At the end of 2025 we were in a five-inch drought, but they kinda wiped the slate clean and started over. Now we're three inches below (never mind last years), so we're losing bushes and stressed trees.

Yep, after an extra frigid Jan/Feb we set record high temps here in both March and April plus major drought conditions continue like most of the southeast has been experiencing. The garden has been on a roller-coaster ride this spring and if we didn't have a deep well to sustain it things would be pretty sad out there. Rain is predicted here for the next several days, now watch us get flooding conditions or nothing at all. If this Spring is any indication I'm not looking forward to an upcoming hellish summer.

Here in the KC area It's been cooler and wetter than normal the last week but overrall this spring has been pretty normal. I'm enjoying not having to water the veggie garden at all so far.

There have been some tornadoes around the area but none within 30 miles of me.

I guess the biggest problems I have with the crazy weather fall under the category of logistics. Because I'm still sleeping in the living room during my recovery, I keep a selection of clothing down here. Because of the rollercoaster weather I can't limit it to cold weather clothes or warm weather clothes. I pretty much have clothes for every season downstairs now, with no way to get them out of sight (no closets, for starters).

Then there's bedding. It was so hot the past few nights, and when I saw the forecast I took my flannel sheets and cozy blanket off the bed and added replacements more suited to summer. Ditto nightwear. Last night I went to bed with the windows open and woke up cold in the middle of the night. This morning I put the cozy blanket back on the bed and got out my cold weather nightwear. It's getting tiresome.

We are dealing with wind like we've never experienced before. It's been an odd spring, beautiful warm days, then frost warnings. Our last average frost is May 30th so no one can say this is not within the range of normal.

The weather is a product of climate and climate change is causing more and more and more extreme weather--the droughts, torrential rains, tornadoes, massive hurricanes, skyrocketing temperatures followed by freezes, and on and on. It will only get worse and worse, and faster and faster. And without drastic measures being taken to stop pumping carbon into the atmosphere that controls the planetary weather, we are essentially doomed. It's happening now. Food shortages have already begun--and they will get worse too. Water shortages due to drought exacerbating the food shortages. Mass movements of people escaping drought in one part of the world and rising oceans in others.

We've done this to ourselves folks. And the United States is the only nation on the planet where an entire political party not only doesn't believe that what's happening is caused by humans and is actively suppressing all efforts to stop it, that same political party is encouraging the very fossil fuels causing it.

I'm not interested here in any posts trying to deny this and do not intend to respond to them. I'm simply stating facts that virtually every scientist on the planet knows to be true.
