Anyone else feel more absentminded in isolation?

I've been easily distracted my whole life, and when I got into my seventies it took on a new quality that I call absentmindedness. Why did I go into this room? Where did I put the object I had in my hand a little while ago? That sort of thing. Common among friends my age, and with myself I noticed it happened only when I was in my house. I could do a long outing of errands and grocery shopping without one episode like this.

So now I've been isolating for almost two months. In the beginning I had trouble concentrating on reading a book or watching TV because the Covid crisis and worry about the people I love was always on my mind. It still is, and although I've gotten some things done and I'm not particularly suffering it feels like I'm more absentminded than ever. I read that this is because of the lack of structure and certain kinds of stimulation in our isolation. It's true that the days seem to run together. The desk calendar I relied on to keep me on track with activities is empty.

Our weather has been cold and wet, and I hope when it warms up and I get outside more and get more exercise, that will help.

How's everyone else feeling?
