Hey, FDF, I will have some heirloom (and non-heirloom) tomato plants, heirloom sweet peppers (Buran and Roumanian Rainbow), and a possibly a couple Neon and Lavender Touch eggplants. Looking forward to those streussel sticks.

Yes, Toffee is a sweetie...he's the perfect dog. Sometimes too smart isn't the best..and he's not the smartest dog you'll ever see...while my female is uber smart. I give my dogs choices, and they pick what they want to do. My female, Jellybean, once found someone's keys in the field and on another occasion brought a puppy back to its owners. I tried to train her as a service dog for me for my mobility...she could do everything, but she was afraid of escalators. She was two at the time and had never seen one. She would turn me left or right on command. She was awesome. She can get me anything I want...tissue, remote control, socks from the pile of clothes, my shoes, anything I drop, etc. She's very smart! I agree with you!!! I love, love, love Chartreuse de Parme!! I am so glad I got it!!! However, Radox Bouquet (one of my new roses this year) has the best fragrance ever!!! Even in terrible weather, its scent is fabulous!!! Thank you so much!! Carol

Carol: That pic. of Yves Seedling, it's 4th year .. I dug it up and put in a pot, since I forgot to put gypsum in the planting hole when I planted it 4 years ago. Zillion-petals rose need lots of gypsum, and I can't put that on top .. Yves seedling doesn't like it acidic. Thus the best place for calcium is IN THE PLANTING hole, my alkaline clay neutralizes the acidity of gypsum. Yves scent is floral-red-wine, delicious, but once picked, it loses its scent. Now Dee-lish rules my garden in fragrance, beating Munstead Wood. Dee-lish can easily compete with old-garden rose like Madame I. Pereire and Comte de Chambord .. both are famous for their scents. For heavy rain, magnesium is a must to prevent leaching of potassium. Magnesium is the "glue" that holds nutrients in soil. My best defense against heavy rain is topping roses with high-magnesium & alkaline clay. Last year we had over 43" of rain, and the worse tomato crop ever !! Last year I topped my tomatoes with cocoa mulch NPK 3-1-4, but that wasn't enough. Heavy rain leached so much nitrogen & potassium that my tomato were wimpy, and 1/10 fruit-production. Last year we got heavy rain at least twice a week !! This year is dry & hot, less rain .. less nutrients leaching out: very good tomato crop. I spent 1 hour a day picking tomatoes for husband to bring to work. This year I topped tomato with free grass clippings (this doesn't work for roses, too much heat). One cherry tomato planted in high-magnesium clay has the spread of my dining-table, very invasive. No nitrogen nor potassium leaching in that dense clay ... there's tons of leaves & fruits. Picture below is 1/6 of the bush:

Probably this: Beggar Lice: (desmodium obtusum) a.k.a. Beggar’s Lice, Tick Trefoil Beggar's Lice, also known as Tick Trefoil, is the weed that covers your clothing with flat, eye-shaped, clinging seeds when you've been walking in fields or open woods during late summer and fall. The stickiness of the seed pod is due to its covering of fine hairs. The pod is segmented, with each segment containing a single seed, and the segments break apart easily. The genus name, Desmodium, is Greek, meaning "band" or "chain", referring to these segmented seed pods. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Desmodium
