I'm still alive!

I know I haven't been around in a while. After my husband of 50 years passed away suddenly I moved back to Louisiana because my family wanted me to. Not long after that my sweet little Mia dog passed away she was 15 years old and had congestive heart failure for many years.
I decided to adopt a cute little boy dog Maxx. He is a chiweenie. Very different from Mia. He is a sweetheart though.
I was doing pretty good until I started having bladder issues. My Dr sent me to the hospital for CT scan, x ray and blood work, and scan of bladder.
On the CT scan it showed I had diverticulitis. Which was a surprise, several colonoscopies in my past had never seen that so it appears to be a new problem.
A few weeks later I was having severe pain and cramping. My Dr ordered another CT scan which detected the diverticulitis had ruptured and I was rushed to emergency surgery.
I was in the hospital for over a week much in intensive care. I don't remember a lot of my stay.
I now have a colostomy bag. 😭
They removed about a foot of my large intestine.
This has been a very difficult process for me. I am basically alone. My sister and niece stayed with me the first 3 days when I returned home. I do have home health care that comes occasionally.
It's a very depressing time for me.
My surgeon is hoping to reverse the colostomy possibly before the end of the year. It can't come soon enough!
I pray constantly for healing and the ability for a quick and easy reversal. Of course that will require another major surgery and a stay in the hospital again but it should not be as long a stay.
I can't believe I am going through all of this without my wonderful husband at my side.
Anyway that's what is happening in my life currently. I am not online very often. I watch some videos that's about it.
I do come by KT occasionally and read, I post on some threads occasionally.
