Still Going Warholian at Home
Pop artist's influence is lasting long beyond those first 15 minutes of fame
No one living or dead celebrated pop culture more than Andy Warhol. His ideas made a large impact upon the art world, inspiring controversy over the very definition of art and changing the way the world viewed graphic art. From early shoe illustrations for newspaper ads to Campbell's soup cans; from Troy Donahue to drawing the gun that Valerie Solanas used to shoot him with, he always kept the conversation and the controversy alive. His ideas continue to influence us at home.
Brian Patrick Flynn gets a lot of artistic mileage from some 99 cent cans of soup on this wall.

Canned Light
Designers Christoph Matthias and Hagen Sczech created this fun pendant light for Ingo Maurer.
Early in his career, Warhol illustrated advertisements and became known for his whimsical shoe drawings. The subject matter stuck with him as he expanded into different media.
Not only was Warhol interested in celebrating iconic American items like Campbell's soup, but also in celebrating cultural icons like Marilyn Monroe, Elizabeth Taylor and Elvis Presley.
Copies of Warhol's '60s portraits of Monroe complement Atomic-Age upholstery.
If Natalie Portman had been around in the '60s, it's a pretty safe bet Warhol would have painted her (in this case, artist Ronnie Bauttista did).
Warhol's portrait of Joseph Beuys hangs in a place of honor in this mid-century modern Eichler home. Beuys was a German artist and a contemporary of Warhol's.

Jackie O Poster
This oversized portrait of Jackie O is available to the masses from CB2. I like to think Warhol would have wanted it that way.
