Crack in my granite I'm so bummed VENT
Comments (3)That is upsetting. Do you think this just happened by itself or is it possible someone went in there and something happened. Perhaps someone who works with granite could inspect it and be able to tell if the crack happened due to a defect in the piece versus whatever else could cause a crack. I have heard it is possible for a defect to cause this. Someone who knows granite should be able to tell based on the type of crack. Is the counter top level?...See MoreBummed
Comments (1)"She said she would call me Sat. to confirm" I think some people are just really hesitant to make firm plans. I am personally a BIG PLANNER and I like to plan in advance, and know how things are going to go. But I have friends like yours, who will toss ideas out there and then they may or may not do them. The fact that she said she was going to call to confirm the plans leads me to believe that, at least in her mind, they were never concrete. I would just let it go. But I don't blame you for being annoyed!...See Moreso bummed
Comments (31)Many people use too much detergent in the washer. I use Tide Free in my front loader -- less than 1/4 cup. I also put 1/4 cup of white vinegar in the 'softener' compartment to flush out an excess soap. (I never understood why I'd put goop back into my clean wash.) Clothes are often 'hard' only because they are full of excess soap. A well-rinsed towel, tumbled dry, is not 'hard'. AFAIK all liquid soaps and lotions -- for laundry and for personal use -- have ingredients to combat mold and to keep the liquid from 'clumping'. One of these ingredients is formaldehyde. (Yes, the frog-preservative you remember from freshman biology!) This and variants are in body soap, shampoo, liquid laundry detergent, 'softeners', etc. The general public may have used these products without any problem for years, only to develop rashes later in life. How do I know? My dermatologist told me so....See MoreKinda bummed
Comments (47)i dont press the soil down much at all for any of them...its kinda hard to figure out..because its spring/summer like weather here..so the windows are often open..and during the day its warm..but at night it gets cool...so when its cooler in my room..they feel wetter..if that makes sense..but when its warm..i can tell their damp..but they dont feel as damp as when its cooler...i usually touch the top of the soil from a few pots to see..and check the water idk something told me to remove the wicks..and redo them..so the leaves are on 1 ply...and the bigger 4 inch pots are on 2 ply. my perlite isnt as big of chunks as i've seen from other youtube videos (btw theres not much about av's there..such a shame)..mine are finer..small pieces..also when i first did the wicking..they were already planted so i had to use a needle to get them in the pots..and whatever excess yarn i pulled i stuffed it in the pot..this time around i kept the excess to a minimum..just incase it was giving too much water... i dont technically know how wet they should be..to me i can describe it as the soil feels like after i've bottom soaked them..so its like that all the time..which my head is like this makes no sense how does this not over water them..beings you're told that they need to dry out some.. speaking of soil..its kinda funny actually...i had never worked with av soil..or perlite..i do have two leaves in just av soil..and i dont like it..so i'm glad for the perlite..i do like the fluffy look..just the av soil alone..it just looks like it packs the soil down after watering (okay i'm rambling sorry)..but with the av and perlite..its cute watering the soil like that reminds me of snow cones when you had the syrup how the ice kinda melts a little.....i know weird..thats how my brain works lol...See More- last year
