Does anyone remember the adventures of ”Squishy” and his overnight visit without little Sprite? I found this old picture yesterday of dirty ol Squishy and my Paco (RIP) greeting him. Squishy is not one to make a stellar first impression and Paco was rather repulsed, as I recall. 😸 Such a sweet memory, my little Sprite growing up and slowly giving up her childhood toys. Letting Squish have a sleepover was a big event for her. Anyone remember?

I thought I had a picture of Blue Footed Boobies from my Galapagos trip, but apparently not :(

Instead, here's a picture of wax breasts, from a trip to Fatima. It is (was?) a tradition to say a prayer for health while lighting a candle of the injury/illness. So wax breasts would be used in a prayer for help with breast cancer. (I don't know what they use for pancreatic or colon cancer.)

I bought these to take home, but they broke in transit.

My husband, his mother and sister visited their homeland when my oldest was six months old. One of his aunts was so impressed that I was breastfeeding that she sent them home with this for me. Apparently all the young mothers frowned upon this old-fashioned method

I assume posting mastectomy scars would get me banned, so here is a photo showing part of the post-mastectomy breast (boob, if you will) reconstruction process. These syringes of saline were pumped into the tissue expanders that stretched muscle and skin to make a "pocket" of space for a prosthetic implant. I had seven visits with my plastic surgeon, once a week for seven weeks, to expand my tissues enough to accept my selected implant size.

Hugs to you, Chartreuse Scorpion. I opted out of reconstruction after bilateral mastectomies. Stage 3 breast cancer survivor now for 16 years.

Annie, they’re lemon and lime ”savers.” DH uses them to store leftovers after cutting wedges for his gin or vodka tonics.

@seagrass_gw Cape Cod - I delayed my reconstruction for a couple of years, but now I'm ready to have these things removed. I'm tired of dealing with them and they're always cold, plus they're expired now.

16 years at Stage 3 is AMAZING! <3

November will be 20 years for me.
