Some days everything “simple” gets complicated

Or maybe it’s not that simple. Is reading and listening/hearing comprehension a rare skill?

I want a wall plate phone jack mount for a corded phone. I can reword this six ways to Sunday. if needed.

DH sends me a link and a photo from Home Depot. I send him off with my car to get it, a cheap corded wall phone from Walmart (Wall-phone-Mart?); some real tomatoes and garden fresh interesting lettuce and local corn (on cob). Meanwhile I also look around for a decent Land Line, corded WALL mounted phone. I might as well be calling around for leeches or spirits.

The phone # for our local Best Buy sends me to a robot operator who doesn’t know what a corded telephone is. She connects me to Doshi who says he understands and I phrase it different ways. Corded, LAND Line Wall Mounted Phone. Doshi gives me two models and wants to text or email me a link. No, I am not giving my mobile or email to a store. He gives me model numbers. I thank him and look them up online. They are CORD-Less phones. Not what I asked for. I want *cords* all the way around. I had to call Best Buy twice and wasted 25 minutes. No wonder Amaz. is eating everyone's lunch.

Home Depot does Not have that Wall plate connector jack. They just have it in their online picture album. DH didn’t call to check first. He burns up a lot of hours by letting his car do the walking….

More wasted time and it is a waste of a dry, not raining or not-snowing New England day. We only

get a dozen dry days that are under 90 degrees and above 30 degrees per year where we live.

I will look at Big Jeff’s store. If I cannot find the wall plate and a wall mounted corded corded phone online, I will try craigslist or break into someone’s house to take theirs (no, I won’t).

We live in the quasi boonies. I have other corded phones, but want one in the kitchen. Otherwise I have to patch the whole in the wall where the old, broken wall-mount hardware was.

All the gear we need is likely at Shakedown’s new buddy’s online store. It will just take more time.

Corded, wall-mounted phones are going the way of Lassie, apparently. (What was that operator’s name? Jenny?)
