I’ve had rhis print for around 30 years and it is still one of my favorites. An artist in the Smokey Mountains did a lot of beautiful nature paintings i admired. This one has several hidden insecfs you can’t see unless you are close.

That's sweet Annie but we've been to Italy, and if we were to go back I doubt we would choose to spend our time seeing what can be seen in pictures, fight the tourists, do what everyone else does. We tend to choose hiking, hamlets and experiencing the back roads of countries. It's never let us down!!

Yes Arcy, it is crowded but still an unbelievable sight to see. No photo or replica does it justice...nor do they replicas of the David. Even with all the superb art everywhere in Italy, Michelangelo's works are outstanding.

Annie, i couldn’t agree more about actually seeing the art and sculpture in person. Some of it just took my breath away and brought us to near tears. So many artists and their work and vision to admire….Raphael, da Vinci, Michelangelo, Brunelleschi (more an architect), Bernini, and so many more.

Try Rome off season. Christmas is good. Cool temperatures and few crowds. Same for Venice. It's chilly in February but almost empty. Walk straight into St. Marks. No queue at all.

This is a Chinese rubbing that I bought years ago in Japan at a department store's Chinese goods promotional event. I couldn't get a good shot without reflections.

And there is a new item I bought at the British Museum - a small print of Hiroshige's interpretation of the whirlpools at Naruto. I have been there and couldn't resist. Looking for a spot to hang it now. Many think that prints of famous artwork are tacky to have in your home, but I like this one and don't care.

Floral, I meant to say that too if one can’t abide the crowds. There are plenty of times of the year that would be good to visit most parts of Italy

My sister-in-law's sister was very ill. She was an artist. I sent her quite a few of my photographs of flowers to try to cheer her up. A few months later, a painting arrived in the mail. She made the painting using one of my photographs. I treasure her painting. She passed away not long after she sent it to me.

There was a very special lady I trained on one of our new software installs for Defense Systems and Electronics Group at TI in the 80’s. She was so kind and painted this for me. Has always been special to me. Part of my gallery in our living room.

Made the greatest addition. Top left is a painting done by the previous owner of this 1940’s home in her high school years. Found it in the attic and she asked me to keep it :).
