So....I had all these great ideas, only to find out that I am only going to be able to fit so much in the box....with some creative packing I am hoping to get quite a bit of it in there, but we'll see....still making stuff. Here's what I have done so far: Painted wood tray, 2 bracelets, 4 pairs of earrings, 3 pairs of crochet embellished socks, 3 small doilies.... And part way through construction are: 2 mini shadow boxes, 4 tassel pairs, 3 wall plaquettes.... And still have all the supplies for some other things that I was hoping to make, but I will have too see how much room I have left in the box! I would upgrade the box to a bigger size, but the postage would be exhorbitant due to how much it weighs already! Netta

When I take those personality tests, I come down right in the middle of extrovert/introvert, which I think is appropriate. I love time with friends, and I am often the organizer of social outings. But I also love being alone. As an only child, I was home alone often when my parents were at work, so maybe it's just that I got used to it. DH grew up in a big family and he doesn't particularly like being alone (as in being home alone for a weekend, or going to our beach house alone -- which I LOVE). But he is very introverted and getting more so as he ages. Friends who know him well can laugh about the fact that if one of them happens to stop by unannounced, he might barely say hello. But if he knows someone is coming, or we're going out somewhere, he is prepared and will be friendly and is often (esp. after a couple of beers) the life of the party because he is incredibly funny. It makes me crazy at times because he can be very self-absorbed and gets involved in solitary activities that can exclude me and the rest of the family. Fortunately when the kids were little he was more engaged and hands-on so it bothers me less now that the kids are more independent. Our kids are: one nerdy extrovert, one slightly nerdy introvert, and one non-nerdy introvert!

Sorry that the day didn't end better for you. I'm in Silicon Valley--San Jose, where lots of people work long hours. My dh worked longer hours and traveled a lot when my kids were younger; I would be extremely disappointed when he came home from a trip because instead of throwing the kids at him and heading out for sanity, he had to sleep and I had to keep the kids a little quiet. I think the girls got used to that, but then again they had each other and me to drive crazy. May I ask, are you from India? If you are not, you and I are not very common. In 26 years of marriage, I've only met two or three other couples with the same backgrounds as we. It surprises me, in this day and age, especially in the big melting pot where we live. Were you able to tell your dh how disappointed you were?

Happiest of Birthdays, Mr. Deighnaugh!

We just now got home from an 85th birthday party approx 85 miles from here 😊 A lovely party but we're tired. My sister in law hosted and had it catered, rental tent on her dock. So at least no work for us involved.

Our birthday recipient lost his wife two years ago and brought a date to his party (warning his hostess of course). Foxy guy, I hope you and Mrs Annie had date night......

Thanks one and all. DH was most touched by your well wishes!

We went to Untermyer Gardens yesterday, toured the gardens and brought a picnic lunch. What an extraordinary place on the Hudson River with a view of the Palisades.

That double post is weird. I posted once and it disappeared. So posted again and suddenly it emerged from the ether! Sorry for the duplication.
