Hello Lisa, why are you trying to grow a banana? Does it conjure up tropical images? There is one growing next door that is hated by the other next door because it sends runners under the fence. It even has bananas but is not a thing of beauty. Micro clime thing. North slope, no frost. No banana plantation was ever on the flat. Does that help? I'd like to grow Lily of the valley, tulips, daffodils and a few other things but i know they would be a complete waste of time so i do not bother Somewhat on topic. I love Drosera capensis but it is not growing as well as it should for something that is supposed to send seed everywhere. Comment re. Afican Violets.Beeeeeeeesssssssssts of plants, anyway they would take up space where i can grow orchids..

I googled and supposedly this is the recipe that's on the box: Recipe: ICE BOX CAKE: from the original on the wafer package Ingredients 1 package Famous Chocolate Wafers Heavy Whipping Cream Vanilla Flavoring Sugar Whip the cream in a cold bowl Add one teaspoon of vanilla flavoring and sugar to taste Whip cream fairly stiff before spreading cream between the wafers Lay wafers to form a log Use remaining cream cover the log Refrigerate for at least 4 hours Cut diagonally into 10 to 14 slices so that dessert has the appearance of being layered. If you prefer individual servings: place four or five wafers together in a smaller log. Information from Amazon regarding wafers and shipping: Case of 12 9-ounce boxes of chocolate wafers (108 total ounces) Made from enriched wheat flour, cocoa, coconut, and chocolate No trans fat; low in cholesterol and saturated fat Crispy and mildly sweet; try it for chocolate crumb crusts and other recipes These wafers were introduced in 1924 by Nabisco tina

Where I live its the winter storm of 95-96 and you just mention it and people remember or they heard of it. It was bad, stopped everything, there on the radio asking does anyone have skidoes to take people to their appointments dialysis to the hospitals, people ran out of all kinds of items, it was desperate times and no power and it went on for 6 days and my suite in bottom of parents was an icebox, I had broken my wrist in two places and was in agony but the pain pills looped me so only took once and that was it for those. Alot died from heart attacks from shoveling snow. ONE young lady radio announcer walked to work from her place and it was a long walk in deep, deep snow but she did it. The hospitals were working around the clock and they were stuck there unless ones that could relieve lived within walking distance and could make it. They were desperate for baby formulas, diapers, milk, bread and one store took huge advantage and hiked the prices and wow, it went into war to that owner doing that in desperate times and people banned that store for long time afterwards. You help people out not stab them in the back. Also alot died due they use things like bbq but didn't have it in open areas trying to give heat to their family. We had one day of power and heat and that was Christmas day and wow, we cooked and so we had turkey to eat after that and it helped lots. But our golden retriever we didn't have dog food to give to him as my dad always waited until last second and couldn't get it for him. He ate things he never touched and New Years my dad found him in rough shape and thankful we had our driveway plowed and roads plowed and dad took him to vets and found so much inside him when they pumped out his stomach. I got blamed as always over that. The power going out and my broken wrist was hardest on me and not able to help my dad and he shouldn't have been shoveling, etc. but I couldn't do it. And sitting in an icebox the whole time except for christmas day we got it back. kathy

There are - or have been - adult versions of these books. I have one called "Fame and Fortune" which is a bit outdated now, but in it, you are a young man called Tim Tryer who comes to London to live and work. Depending on your adventures, you could become a journalist, a chat-show host, a night-club owner, a politician, a young man with a serious drugs problem, the toy-boy of a rich woman - you get the idea! It was quite imaginative and good fun.
