Oly, my dad built a wooden car in the '60s. Of course the mechanical parts were heavy metal as all cars, but he built it with a wooden body. He went to the DMV to get it registered and they laughed at him. It was important to him to register it so he could drive the freeway. Then he took a couple of them for a ride and they changed their minds. He got his registration.
