It is the pits in ND this morning! 6 to 8 inches of wet, very heavy snow on the roads. Still snowing like mad and still blowing like a banshee.Cars and semi's in the ditches every where. No paper delivery, no school, the clinic is closed here, and the frosting on the cake was when cable tv and internet went out!!!!! Can you say borrrrring? I thought I was in for a long day of watching the snow come down. I have internet thanks to a devoted cable tv employee (my DB!LOL) who drove in this stuff for many miles early this morning to fix the outage for lots of towns.

Sara-Ann, those are pretty and it is windy here, too. I am waiting on the wind to die-down so I can cut some roses. The blooms are getting the fall bigger look...huge.

Thanks for the heads up about rentals! Good idea. Lynn, we experienced this lack of parts support with our Samsung induction. We've only had it 7 years and when the burners died, we could not get the parts because those models are no longer supported. The tech was on the phone for almost two hours trying to find the parts, which apparently the last were sold a few months back. That coupled with that they no longer make this particular freestanding range model meant we had to get another range. We cook pretty much every day. Frustrating because the oven and everything worked great, so we had to cook without using burners. Our neighbor asked us if he could take it and haul it for scrap, so we said sure. There are not a whole lot of places that keep induction in stock. At Lowe's they would all have to be ordered and take 4-6 weeks! Sears actually does keep a variety of induction in stock (Kenmore, Electrolux, and KA), and I was able to find an Electrolux floor model from Sears for a great price and get it delivered in a couple of days. I'ts great, but it's way more tech than the Samsung, so even we've had a bit of a learning curve on it.

I'm not sure how the fruit trees have lasted as well either. We've lost some dogwoods and few fruit trees, but not as many fatalities as you'd expect. I bet the people who buy peppers and put them out the first warm spell in February aren't too happy! The wind has been very annoying. I tried to sow some new seeds for flowers yesterday in a seedling tray I have, but the dumb wind kept blowing either my seeds or my packets around! Luckily it rained here last night. We had a fairly nice soaking for the garden. Down south in Mountainburg, fairly flat town right outside of the Ozarks, got hit by a tornado. We get bad storms in the Ozarks but, at least here, tornadoes are a bit of a rarity with the terrain being as hilly as it is. My beets that I sowed in early April are now sprouting, as are my carrots and second lettuce sowing, as are some potatoes and all my radishes. Onions in the ground. Only supposed to get down to as low as 30 this evening, and it's going to be overcast so I'll suspect we'll manage that. I think mostly everything will be alright but I will cover up tender plants like potatoes.
