I'm not sure I understand what you are trying to say, so please correct me if I'm wrong, but from what you posted I understand what you are say is the following. You have not listed any seeds for trade either on your member trade page or on this thread because you don't have any seeds to trade yet, but you will mid to late summer after you collect seeds from the plants that you will have growing in your beds. You don't want to list the seeds that you will have as seeds to trade until you have them collected, which makes perfect sense to me and anyone else. Yet at the same time, it appears you want to set up trades for seeds now and have members send you their seeds now and you will send seeds to these members some time in July or after that and the members have to ask you what you will or may have in the future but not now. And you don't "understand why this must seem so difficult."...... I don't understand it either. Simply put, this forums is called "The seed exchange forum" for a reason. It is a forum where members make arrangements with other members to exchange/trade seeds with each other. Members list seeds on their member trade page that they already have collected, purchased or have extras from other trades, as well as seeds that they want to trade for. The members then either post that they have seeds for trades and/or what seeds they are looking for and those that are interested check the threads and post to the offers that interest them. There are also posts from members that offer their extra seeds for "free", just send a bubble envelope and postage for the seeds. What isn't done, nor would be considered a trade is what appears to be the offer that you are offering. Attempting to set up a trade for seeds expecting seeds to be sent to you now and you would fill your end of the trade sometime in the future, long after the seeds could be started for this year. Now if I am confused/mistaken with what I have interpreted your offer and what you are saying to be, please correct me. Otherwise, what you are really doing is not something that is set up on GW and it would be best for you to just look for offers that say BEAP, SASBE, Free seeds for postage and check out the members trade list to see if they have something you are looking for. As has already been stated in another post to you, asking for free seeds is not allowed on GW and essentially you are asking members to send you seeds in hope that you will honor your end of the trade and send seeds that you say you will have some time over the summer that can't be started and used until next year. The last time I had to buy tomatoes for canning....I paid fifteen dollars for a bushel from a local stand. Usually at farmer's market they'd go for less, because they don't have the work involved in bagging the smaller amounts. If I don't see produce I want in bushel sizes, I ask. Without an exception, they're happy to reduce the price to move a bushel. Don't even go there with canning store tomatoes, unless you see a sign saying they're 'home grown' and you can believe it. The tomato varieties found in most markets are the commercial ones bred for automation. They're square, dry and tasteless. Argh! I'd pay more for the priveledge of a really tasty tomato.

Oh, I can imagine some little boys I knew having fun plucking the ”hair” off the fairy so she was bald! (or her dress!) But you do have a point, Elmer. It’s why we switched from theme birthday cakes to brownies, then pie. The kids didn’t care or even notice what the cake looked like, and ate either the icing, or the cake, but rarely both. Brownies were,a universal favorite and extra pieces could be easily sent home with kids or boxed up. In later years, pies were a birthday activity, with each kid selecting the filing for their slice, and making a way to identify that slice on the crust. (Making pizza was a similar activity.) I think it’s like sushi, really pretty but then you just pop it in your mouth. I see the rice now, eld, but is the yellow an omelette? It’s really cute.

That's cute! We 'reunioning' end of first week in Aug at the beach for a few days with my cousins. DH just asked the other day if there would be any 'littles' there other than the eldest cousins grandson - almost 4. I said I didn't think so. If I took a sharpie and a couple of carboard squares that's something we could do with him, make a present for his grandmother to display in the kitchen of their house they've rented for the week.
