Thank you to all who responded to my post about Pinkie. For some reason, the pictures did not post. But the link will send you to a website I have that you can scroll back and forth through approximatley 10 pictures of my pink stove. I found her at a garage sale about 3 years ago with a matching pink refrigerator. The stove was in good shape but needing a cleaning. The woman who sold it to me said that it belonged to her mother and was always in her mother's basement. She had to empty her mother's house so she brought everything to her own house and held a garage sale. Along I came, expecting to buy a vintage book or two and ended up buying Pinkie. I bought it without ever knowing if it worked as we could not plug it in in the garage. The woman who was selling it said that she was pretty certain that everything worked, so I took a chance. It was cheap, however, I have spent a lot of money to move Pinkie around. First she went to be stored at my boyfriend's house. We were able to plug it in there and that is where I first saw that everything worked. He eventually moved, so I was forced to find a storage place in my apartment and finally Pinkie arrived in my laundry room this summer. I considered selling her so many times because I wasn't using her and she was in the way. I've spent $300 so far for purchase and moving expenses (she's been moved 3x). I know I'm crazy. But I feel that I could get my money back if I attempt to sell her. But I don't want to sell her!!! Relic- Thank you for the info about the heat minder burner. I wasn't sure what that was all about. Sounds like you have cooked on this stove in the past. Did you know that the oven pulls out for easy cleaning? That blew my mind when I figured it out! Such ingenious features for 1961!! Oh and yes, I did love the pink matching fridge and it broke my heart to break up the set. But I think I want a new energy efficient fridge. I love ALL THINGS vintage, I'm obsessed, actually but I draw the line at an old fridge. Love the look, just need the new technology. Other than that, my kitchen table is porcelain with chrome legs (pristine condition) and my vintage tablecloth collection is 200+.

@ebharvey and noseometer..sorry to hear that, our box stores were just like that too. This is the first year, I saw a kordes there. But Walmart here carries a huge variety, you've got to get to them early spring. I got a lot of them from there, regular star performers in my no spray garden: queen elizabeth, Tiffany, Sunsprite, abe lincoln, Don Juan, Rio Samba(l think, lost the label..) and more recent addition which has been flowering non stop(I just planted these about two months ago) Heirloom, Angel and St Joseph's coat. I have to say St. Joseph Coat is delightful, striking colors and always flowering(spiky thorns). I do like to revive plants needing TLC. I digress, my point is you never know what you may find in these stores..it's fun to find an unusual rose.:)

I am a bit nervous of the condition of my tree once it arrives. It shipped out 10/3/17 and will arrive 10/10/17, 7-8 days in a dark box sounds like that poor trees going to be in rough shape. What is the longest anyone's trees have been in transit for?
