I had to go back 10 years and a previous house to find a photo of one of my dogs and the fireplace. This is Oscar, my last Rotty getting ready to hog the warm spot in front. My current dog is a Labrador and she's always hot - never goes near the fireplace but loves walking outside when it's cold.

Bringing stinky things indoors reminds me of when I first moved to San Francisco and went to the beach. I picked up some abalone shells and brought them in the house! Woowee were those stinky. Pretty but so stinky. Ick!

Cloebud, it is Powell Butte in SE Portland, similiar area to Widby, I Imagine, I’ve never been to Whidby but of course I’ve been all around the area. I lived in Silverdale for a year.

Penny, British Columbia post office 2012. The last place in Canada where the mail was delivered by train only. (3 times a week) It is on the Skeena run between Jasper and Prince Rupert. It closed in 2013.
