My mother died 2 days ago, dad just a year ago. This sucks!
Comments (5)I am so sorry for your loss. Nothing said or done helps, but I do care, that you've had to go through this traumatic experience. My Mom died of ovarian cancer July 3rd 2009. She had the surgery followed by chemo treatments, it was in remission for 4 years. Only to come back again about a year and a half later. More chemo, tons of tests, they switched chemo treatments a few times. We got her into one of the best cancer treatment centers and the end result was, she still died. I seen my mom go through so much with the chemo treatments so I understand your mom's not wanting to go through it =/ I would of insisted Mom do chemo, too simply cause I couldn't bear to lose her. It hurts. It hasn't gotten better so far. In fact sometimes it seems to get worse as I realize, I've never gone without talking to her for so long. I really hope it does get easier for the both of us. Like you my Mom was pretty much all I had. Never been close to my Dad....See MoreOh No!!! My favourite author just died!!!
Comments (18)As much as we enjoyed the Robert Parker books, I refused to buy them after I realized that we were reading them in about 2 hours. They were great big books printed on the thickest paper with the largest margins and very few words per page. We used to joke about how fast we would read them. "Honey, could you flip the steak now?" "Sure, just let me read this Spenser book first." lol My irreverent husband wondered if his obituary would be written like that, too. All that aside, I'm sorry Robert Parker died, he wasn't very old and I'm sure his family will miss him terribly. We did enjoy his books and the TV show with Robert Urich, he was the perfect Spenser. I recommend reading his books in the order that they were written in, when possible. They do have a progression of characters and story lines that might be helpful. (And I have to agree about the Susan Silverman eating habits and Jesse Stone's tortured love life.... I got kind of tired of both of those.)...See MoreMoter died on my Asko washer
Comments (7)Not trying to rub salt in the wound, but my dealer offered us a 5 year warranty on our Mieles (sells Asko too) and with multiple purchases of washer, dryer, dishwasher and fridge, it was something like $200 (no more) for 5 years on all of these. Just a FYI. It's tough with people trying to sell you warranties on dumb little electronics, but with a big appliance, it is something to consider....See MoreMy F&P ecosmart died today - need new washer stat! Comments (6)LOL! Your rant about making one's own laundry soap, etc was toooo funny and ITA :) I'm also not a fan of the low water band wagon. The only FL experience I've had is my mother's machine. She's NOT happy with hers :( I AM VERY happy with my Whirlpool Cabrio TL NON-HE machine (with agitator). It's model number WTW6200. Had the 6400 model, TL HE. You can do a search with my name or Cabrio and read why I didn't like it, but basically it didn't clean. Like you, my top 4 priorities are CLEAN laundry without having to stand on my head and stack greased BBs to get it! 3.8 cubic feet, auto water level (more water than the HE TL) and 4 other water levels for you to manually adjust. Also has a delay wash that I find useful. Don't have the dryer so I can't comment on that. Good luck! Monica...See More- last yearlast modified: last year
