I need new baking ideas
Comments (23)Sorry bout that: Here is the Recipe. Lot of words but very easy after the dough is made. Lou-s Cinnamon Buns ------ SS Pan ,9 1/2 in by 12 in by 2 1/2 in deep Or Pyrex baking dish 3/4 stick of butter and 1 tablesp. Of Vegetable oil Pancake syrup , Brown Sugar and a little granulated sugar Cinnamon and Raisins Melt the butter in the pan and let it cool ( put it in the refrig. a few minutes) Level it across the pan and back into the refrig to harden. Take it out and Sprinkle very little oil and move it around with the back of a spoon. Dribble some pancake syrup all around the pan , then a little gran. Sugar Then lay in some brown sugar . Dont be chincey , leave some lumps. Last sprinkle ( good bit ) of Cinnamon and Raisins. You can also add some walnuts, If you want to. If you dont want to , dont do it but dont blame me , if you didnt Do and wish you had done , etc. Take half + of the recipe of the Braided Bread dough and roll it out to about 3/16 in thick ( 3 pennies ) You can do the dough in 2 pieces if it is easier. Try to roll them out to at least 16 in long. x 12 in. Sprinkle some pancake syrup, Sugar and cinnamon on the dough , then some raisins. Roll the dough up loosely, Making a 12 in. long Roll and cut into 1 in. pieces. Mark the roll ,at half way and half again before cutting., into 8 pieces. Do the same to the other piece of dough Place these pieces in the pan that you prepared , leaving spaces in between , because the dough will grow. Push them around with your fingers, to fill the pan evenly. When the dough is doubled , bake in a 320 degree oven , on a shelf near the top, for about 25 to 35 minutes or golden brown. You can Baste , with an egg milk mix, while baking. When it is removed from the oven , place a piece of aluminum foil over it and a large cutting board or cookie tin and then flip it over and remove the pan. If some of the goodies stay in the pan take them out right away and patch the Buns while the goo is still hot. WARNING !!!! Get away from them until they cool. !!!!!!!! You will burn your lips Now you can see if you used enough brown sugar and gooey stuff....See MoreIdeas needed-I have a gap above new counter depth fridge
Comments (9)Unless you are going to be living with this kitchen another 10 years and will be selling it at a 100K discount as a gut reno, the correct solution IS to replace like with like. You don't usually see SubZeros in suburban tract homes, so unless that was the case and the PO was a bit eccentric in that way, your kitchen is best served by having the level of appliances replaced with the level that is already installed. Anything less, and yes, you are downgrading the kitchen and that's a road you don't want to start going down if you want to keep up the value of your home. Even with the real estate market trending downward, there's always further down to go if a buyer feels that the home may not have been "kept up". A non built in in a built in's hole gives them more opportunity to think this was the case....See MoreI need new floor ideas
Comments (26)Thank you all so much! It's funny, as I was perusing today, I kept finding myself drawn to pale terracotta tiles -I love anything that looks ancient and has a handhewn look. I'd have to buy a few and lay them down to really decide how that would play with my Costa Esmeralda granite counters. And then I've also been looking at slate, both the solid gray and ones with some copper and blue/green tones. I saw some stunning ones, but again, I'm wondering how it will play with the Costa Esmeralda. Robo, I think your analysis is spot on, and you're right there is a pink undertone in the foyer/fp tile. I've been wondering about travertine, because it seems like it had its day and nobody is doing it anymore, but really, that shouldn't be a reason to steer away from it if it works. I've never loved the wide grout lines they seem to use around here with travertine and don't know if that's just custom or there is a reason for it. I'm in Austin at our lakehouse right now and going to see about an Ann Sacks showroom. DD, who lives here, is a PM for a very high end home renovation company and may be able to steer me toward some places as well where I could see some brick veneer, travertine, slate, etc. Starting to get excited! Thank you all again!...See MoreI need a new rug and chair ideas
Comments (6)Two rug ideas. I don’t know what size rug you currently have, but a bigger rug would be good. And I think some nesting tables like this would give you more placement and serving options than the coffee table you have currently, and would also be less dense/less heavy in the space. I brought in a black pillow on sofa to ground the space, and leopard pillows for the chairs; you could use any leopard or cheetah pillows, if you like the style....See More- 2 years ago
