New floor idea, need another vote please
Comments (26)I agree that the tumbled doesn't flow with the subway. I think the octagons with the black or white dot would be so classic, never go out of style, plus you can accent with any color. I am wondering if she would always be checking for water on the wood, like I do in my kitchen? The small aqua octagons are really a great look too! I have the 4" white octagons with the black dots, matte finish in my bathroom. The shower is done with a grayish marble look 12 by 18" porcelain rectangles done subway style. Hope she gets settled with a decision. I drive myself crazy sometimes trying to decide what I want....See MoreI need help with some ideas for my new living room...
Comments (10)Maybe you aren't as creative as you would like to be, but you probably know what you like and what you don't like. So that's why you should get a bunch of magazines and on-line pictures to start seeing what speaks to you and what doesn't. We now know that you don't want orange. What other colors don't you want/what colors do you love? Do you have a Calico Corners or JoAnn's nearby? Try browsing the fabrics and figure out what and colors and patterns you like: stripes/plaids/polkadots/floral? This is where you can start, and then we can work from there....See MoreNeed help with the new built- Kitchen Flooring & Exterior Ideas
Comments (0)Hope everyone had a good 4th of July! We would like to seek for advice on the following: 1. What are your thoughts on the flooring for kitchen and family room? Originally we were thinking to do all engineered wood (chocolate color) since both kitchen and family room are in an open area in one big room so for a better flow, this would look better. However, I am now considering doing tile in the Kitchen area for maintenance purpose (easier to clean spills, scratches from the chairs and bar stools.. ) Below are some pictures from an inventory home. We are doing woods everywhere except for bedrooms and game room on the second floor. 2. The builder recommended us a 8 ft door, maybe its the trend now? but we will lose the transom at the top. With our floor plan and hallway, do you think 6.8 feet or 8 feet door would look better and more natural light? (Our entry is 10 ft ceiling and then the hallway is 19 ft) 3. For the exterior, I plan on getting white stones in the front porch area and the study room portion. Others would be brick..any suggestions on the color of brick? I am thinking a very dark color, maybe brown but not red bricks.. Any suggestions on the brick color, trims, and garage door color? We are adding a third bay to it, so there will be three garage doors instead of the one showing in the inventory home pic. Appreciate any suggestions! :) Kitchen Flooring 6.8 ft or 8 ft Front Door Pics: Look with 6.8 ft door and transom at the top: Exterior stone and brick color, garage door and trim suggestions...See MoreNeed ideas for livingroom after new flooring is installed
Comments (1)It's really hard to tell. On my monitor, the walls look golden yellow in the first pic, beige-pink in the second and taupe in the third. I would choose an off-white color that works with your floor....See MoreRelated Professionals
