Barry Manilow Concert

My sister and I went and saw Barry Manilow in concert last night.
OMG the concert was amazing last night. Only bad part was he was late getting on stage by 45 minutes.
But he did stay on longer then scheduled
Sang all his hits and sounded great. Also I hope I have the same amount of energy he has when I hit 81.

Starting to feel a little overwhelmed. I have a shower for my daughter coming up May 6th and then the wedding 5 weeks later. My daughter who is away at college is suffering from an impacted tooth and is scheduled to have her wisdom teeth removed next Thursday. This will be where she is going to school which is 2 hours from here. I should be there with her but I can't get the day off at our little gift shop. Not enough people for coverage and it is a plant delivery day. My son is having some enemia issues and is 18. Now he needs an MRI on some lower abdominal swelling and then will have to see a GI doctor. My second son (have 5 kids) just got a job in Dallas, Texas and he and his wife will be moving there as soon as there house sells in South Carolina. The darn wet and cold weather isn't helping either. I have a plant swap I have to get done. The old "when it rains, it pours". I have enjoyed this swap immensely. Thank you Shirley for such a great time. Loved this idea and hope we do it again sometime. Margo

Here's my two-cents... I would plant on 16-18 inch centers in rows parallel to your house, instead of 24 inch, and leave more space between rows so you can walk through them to tend/cut. This would allow you room to put tomato cages on each one, or stakes, and you would be able to further support them by tying each plant support to the one next to it, providing additional structure to prevent toppling. You might want to leave a bit more space next to the border, as the plants will expand onto your lawn the way you have it on your diagram. Happens to me every year on some rows where I slack on the spacing to the edge, and hubby is not a fan of the swerving he has to do with the lawnmower. You might also want to consider buying 2- 50 foot 'leaky hoses,' and have a manual timer with a 2-way splitter on your spigot. You can run the hoses down each row, on either side of the main path, and set the timer for 15 minutes 3 times a week. There is something to be said for being able to WALK AWAY being assured of even and deep watering. Be sure to cover the leaky hose with mulch... the sun is bad for them, and there will be less evaporation if soil & hose is covered. He also has a great sense of humor. Was showing photos of himself back in the 70's and joking about outfits he wore on stage.

I ushered campus concerts when I was in college, so i got to see him twice, free! This was 1970s, fantastic. Then I saw him about 20 years ago, still fantastic. Still performing at 81? Fantastic!

DH saw him years ago. Loved his voice. Too bad about the botched plastic surgery. Why can't these celebs just age gracefully!!

I would say he wasn't a great voice, but a great performer. Boy, can he ever sell a song!

One of the theatres my daughter performs with provided back up at his concert last night. Crazy. I disagree I loved his vocals back in the day. I couldn't watch him now--when it's time to hang it up it's time to hang it up.

I saw Barry Manilow probably 40 years ago in concert in the bay area. My friend was a dental hygenist and a patient had given her tickets; she asked me to join her. We said why not; we thought it would be a big joke. I have to say the joke was on us. It was one of the best concerts we ever attended. He was so entertaining! The audience was in the palm of his hands from beginning to end, and the concert was just pure fun!
