I am so tired of this very hot weather and i do not see an end in sight. It does look like we might get some rain, which is badly needed. i’ve been watering everything in pots, so they are doing okay. It reached 100 sometime in the last 24 hours and is in the high 90s now. I would love to get out for a much needed walk, but have been pretty much stuck in the house except for errands. Ive had it. Im outside of Philadelphia.

100s here in Northern Utah this week with high 90s showing for the next 10 days. I'm surprised how well my garden is doing so far. The lettuce hasn't bolted, peas are still growing, the fava beans look good, and nothing else looks heat stressed. It does get shielded from the late late afternoon sun but I'm thinking next week will be a different story. It's just too long for it to be that hot.

Again another reason I despise summer and dread it every year. It's currently 98 and feels like well over 105! This has been happening for the past month or more and we are also in severe drought with the soil baked. The corn is five inches high.

Rob333, I've only lost two cock's combs flowers I bought to add some more vibrant color to my front garden. Everything seemed too pale, lavenders, yellows and whites mostly. They are both completely dead now, even though I watered them along with everything else.

Hot here too in Va, it will be 98 tomorrow and 100F on both Tues & Weds (heat indexes 109). We did get 3" of rain from the recent east coast system which helped with the drought and stressed garden but that will surely dry up quickly in the coming daze. Last I heard this morning there were still 500,000 households without power in the Houston area. Heaven help em'

Even here on our refuge on outer Cape Cod we wil be in 90's this week with high humidity. I miss the unrefrigerated fresh air, and dread our electric bill this month. We're old and can't take the heat and humidity. To heck with our retirement investments. We're spending it on A/C.

We’ve (N. Central Alberta) been at about 73 F for the last couple of days, which I think is a perfect summer temperature but the forecast is for 85 F the coming week, into the weekend.

I hope the folks without power get some relief soon.

80s and humid today after last night’s storms, but it is supposed to be in the 70s by mid-week, so that will lovely.

We had rain today, and the temperatures dropped to 92°, but we have humidity now.

If I lived in Houston, I would certainly want to have a generator, since hurricane damage is a real threat to the power lines.

We have underground power lines here, and so they are not at risk, but we do have rolling blackouts sometimes during heavy power usage, due to excessive heat. However, these usually last only a couple of hours instead of a couple of days.

I think the power grid in Texas is in real trouble, and people there need A/C at this time of year. Summers in Houston are the worst I've ever experienced, and so I feel for people there who have lost power for days.

90s here, heat index is 100s, night time lows are around 80. We just got a big bunch of rain a short while ago, which was much needed.

Some years back when the derecho hit West Virginia, people with generators were OK as long as the gas lasted. But then without power, gas stations couldn't pump gas. Some farmers drove hours south to find a station with gas so they could pump water to their cattle.

Colorado: 67F right now. Today is the last of the high 80's temps. We're supposed to get a ton of rain, not just a shower. We need it. Well water is free. We water the newly planted trees every day...and all the flowers. I've gotton some great deals on wilted flowers from Lowes....the up side to hot weather. :0) It should be 49F at night, 69'-79' ALL next week.

Over 300,000 still without power as of this morning, after the big freeze a few years ago you'd think that Tx would have resolved some of these ongoing problems by now. Don't know if the governor is still overseas or not, but I wonder if Sen cruz is vacationing in Cancun?

It's 82 at 9:33 am, feel like temp is 88, 74% humidity. High today is supposed to be 96, My son came home about 2 hours ago. He drove 12 hours, a lot of it at night. He stopped to nap early this morning in his car. I was worried about him sleeping in his car with these temps.

It's 95 at noon and will hit 100 and worse tomorrow and Wednesday with virtually no rain for weeks. It's by far the worse summer ever and this will get topped next year and the next forever or as long as the planet lasts.

Toasty today. Missed watering for one day and the flowers are drooping.

Been inside all day today and got light headed when I went outside for 15 minutes to shuck 2 ears of corn for dinner. This heat and humidity is inhumane and the next 2-3 daze here will be worse. All yard work is at a stand still other than picking what is ripe and not yet cooked. Getting too old to take it.

An added insult was our county was in a severe thunderstorm alert. Guess who didn't get one drop? 99 now!
