I don't know, Nicole; I never questioned it, had never been told it was life-long, either. I'm 62 now with no redness, but I still get a huge pimple or two or three in clusters that put me in panic mode every couple months. My doctor warned me that menopause might cause a recurrence, but fortunately it didn't - but I didn't have hot flashes, either, or need any hormone replacement therapy. I was 55 when menopause began, 57 when done. As I said in my first post, I was unable to use anything to hide or control it. I had a hideous pizza face (and neck) that I was terribly conscious of for eight years. I had an official diagnosis from a dermatologist because my doctor (who is still my dr and aware of my history) sent me to the derm because I was pregnant, hoping the derm's expertise might be useful. He had nothing in his arsenal for a pregnant woman with rosacea at the time, but that was way back in the early 80s. My 34 yo son and 41 yo dtr had major bouts of acne in their teens and twenties. The same dermatologist who couldn't help my rosacea helped their acne tremendously. My dtr remains clear skinned at 41, but my poor son still has bouts of acne now and then, and pock marks, but he does not have rosacea according to his derm. He is treated for adult acne. Sherry

In gen people who are in this situation shouldn't IMO keep pets unless they have plans for what happens to the animals in question, and the species they keep. Most people like this cannot afford good/decent pet food, or are too lazy, ignorant to see to that, stats show diet is often the most neglected aspect of pet care. I think this is an excellent idea though KF88 because people are not going to just wake up and see sense, and it is true there are curtain arrangements where I see it to be very very good. I'm lucky my parents will take my cats in the future, so bad things don't happen to them in the group home or the other way around with the people. Cats especially are by law, in MN at least, (only if loose and at large, free roaming) considered wild animals, and the ways group homes use to limit/control. problems such as scratching are barbaric as well as possibly dangerous to the people who live with them, we had a woman get bit by a de clawed cat- and I got bit by the cat when she brought the cat to work . On the other hand I understand why de-clawing would come up- my dad got a blood infection from a clawing that one of our previous cats in my childhood- the answer is then just not to have um in the first place. Many people do not like cats/dogs/pets, or are ill equipped to live with them especially those who are violent and unstable, we had someone throw a chair at one of my friends, at work, she, the attacker, probably lives in a group home, a lot of the people at my job do.. The victim got a bruised leg. - I asked what happened to stop the behavior from happening again., the victim reported to me the attackers mother was "rich and powerful" and so nothing was done. On the whole through if everyone is okay with it, accepts its what the animal does without resorting to cruel solutions, and no new people are going into that arrangement who may have an allergy, its a good idea.

Europe is MUCH better at protecting their citizens from chemicals than the US. They keep a pretty extensive list of banned ingredients, many of which are allowed here..because well companies will pay off the government because dangerous chemical A costs 2 cents less than the safer one. Fireball whiskey and Johnson's Baby Shampoo have different formulations for Europe because of this.. Johnson's Baby Shampoo for cripes sake.. I feel much safer buying Euro Persil than even a 'green' mega product from the US like PurClean

I get a lot of pet food donated to me, and a few days ago I got some from a place called Hare Today. It was three 5lb buckets of raw food. One was finely minced up rabbit meat, and two were finely minced up elk meat. They were frozen. Also a sealed bag of round bones, sliced about an inch thick with marrow. I don't know what animal....I shudder to think....and a sealed bag of chicken feet...both from the same company. I didn't feed it to my animals. For one thing, being frozen and so much that I wouldn't know how to save the leftovers and I could see it becoming very nasty if it thawed out. I took out in the woods and left it for the coons. I was thinking. ..where are the coyotes when you really need them? Next day, all gone. The hogs may have eaten some of it. And I know the crows had a feast. I went to their website but it came up too small to read on my phone. Those 5 lb buckets were $50 apiece. Food for people who want to feed a raw diet. You can also order some that is the whole animal....small animals. I used to get frozen mice for the possums. That was creepy enough. The wildlife center gave them to me....I didn't buy them.
